Description
Mixed media, 24" x 30" hours, 15 hours. This is my A2 Graphics final exam piece. Based on the idea of recycling, my theme was 'Everything Has a Second Life', so I wanted to merge old and new technology to form the robot rising from the rubbish dump. I was inspired by Transformers artist Josh Nizzi and Combine painter Robert Rauschenberg. The robot is painted in acrylics with collage underneath some areas, the clouds were sponged on, the cassette is a photocopy of the drawing I did here: [link] and the 'rubbish dump' was created using a mixture of photographs, newspaper and tissue paper with paint scraped across.
Materials used: acrylics, collage (photographs), tissue paper, newspaper. The robot was based on a model I made here: [link]
