How To Train Your Dragon + The Secret Of Kells, thats what the original/working title is for this pic... sadly it's too long.I juz felt like drawing them together XD
lol Brendan n Pangur Ban snucked in n climbed Toothless while Hiccup was napping XD n I can juz imagine Aisling swinging on Toothless' wing =]
used this to procrastinate doing homework.
And I got TOO LAZY to lineart it with pen so I juz left it as a pencil sketch n colored it. Hey at least the colors look pretty JK

Yep. those guys. n yeah the story's Irish but i thought the movie comes in 3 languages. i only watched the english version.
he's bound to be. & it's gonna be an unlikely friendship with brendan & hiccup, juz like with hiccup & toothless XD

This is a particularly amusing juxtaposition because the Northmen that drove Aidan out of Iona and attacked Kells in the film were Viking raiders.
How to Train Your Dragon is an incredible film, but it is quintessentially American, practically a cowboy movie with its strong call to action and the military organization of the characters in the final act. Contrariwise, The Secret of Kells is a deeply Catholic film as the climactic battle is not only lost, but Brendan doesn't even participate, immediately fleeing. Such an action is practically inconceivable to an American audience.
Like I said; an amusing and contradictory juxtaposition.

=] exactly, that's the point... i was thinking after the vikings befriend the dragons, they'll befriend the people of Kells (which i doubt'll happen)

This is such a sweet scene. It's rather funny in my opinion because in TSOK, the vikings are the BAD guys, and the charcter of Hiccup isn't like that AT ALL. So, this picture you've drawn counters that notion and instead shows everybody having a good time.
I love all the character interaction going on: Hiccup is relaxed, the cat's enjoying a nap, Brendan is enjoying meeting Toothless, Aisling is having fun and Toothless is a combo of both amused and curious as to these newcomers. And I adore your drawing style; it gives the picture an old-fashioned, youthful feel to it.

thanks. n yeah i'm aware of that fact. in HTTYD the vikings found out not all dragons are bad, so maybe in this scene the characters from TSOK r starting to find out that not all vikings are evil like they think.

ive always thought that the movie was based on the All American Rejects' song, or the other way round; their song was a soundtract for the movie. Turns out the song n the movie dont have anything to do with each other at all
