Seasons 1-3 and the movie where the best.
Once season 4 kicked off, so did 5 seasons of disgusting images, mean-spirited jokes and torture porn.

I still laugh at the newer seasons, though I will admit they're nowhere as good as the older episodes or the movie. I give it credit for doing it's own thing instead of making countless pop-culture references, and the animation and designs are far more appealing to look at than something like ADVENTURE TIME. Give me SpongeBob over that hippie crap anyday.

The creator, surprisingly, intended the movie to be the series finale. But the network insisted on making more episodes. A major conflict ensued, and as a result, he left the show.
Nothing was the same ever since.
