No, that's not Ryu, Ken, and Dan. And no, it's not Street Fighter. It's the one and only: Art of Fighting!Don't compare AOF with those rip-offs.
I think my subconsciousness is the most creative side of me. I always seem to create fancy stuff when I least expect it.
Looked around my hard drive to see what I could mess with in GIMP. This sketch came up; I did it shortly after XIII revealed the whole family together. Afterwards in GIMP, I started messing around with some tools that I wasn't even aware of. Just when you think you know everything... One thing lead to another and I eventually put them together. Add some color, gradients, some filters, and you have this.
For those who can recall, in AOF2, whenever your health reached a critical level and the character looked very bruised up, your strength would increase. Plus, Desperation Moves became available to use.
This is a tribute of sorts to that unique, now forgotten, system.
And yeah, that's Yuri with her XIII hair cut.

Yeah, but Athena is... well, Athena. Probably SNK's most spoiled character next to Mai.
They'll always be finding ways to improve her character every year.
Yuri, on the other hand, is not so hot with SNK. So once XIII is out, chances are she'll be staying like that for awhile.

She is still herself somewhat. The hair was a bummer, sure, but for me what ruined it was the voice change. I would have loved it if they used her 95' voice. Or even her 03' acting, which was still good.

Yeah, I've played it. But honestly, it's WAAAY to anime-ish for my taste.
I thought every character was a girl first time playing through, no joke.
Once over that, it's an alright game I suppose.

Awesome, Yuri looks like she's ready to kick ass
But really, awesome work with everything, you really created the perfect mood for this with every other Kyokugen member in the background (except Marco). Though I really would have imagined Ryo standing in the middle instead of Yuri

Don't underestimate EXTRA mode.
Whether Yuri knows Marco is still unclear, so I chose to not include him. I did have room for him though.
I'm sure Ryo gets enough attention as it is. My Ryo project has over 1000 views already.

Nah, it was basically meant to capture the AOF gameplay. Y' know, whenever you're beat up pretty good: you're strenght increases and Desperation moves become available.
