Is the shadow arm an entity unto itself? What would be the differences between Noboru and it (if so)?

I have some story ideas behind this one that I'm unsure how to explain ahaha.
Whenever I draw him a ghosty arm, the colours are the tell for what it is. The Blue arm is the 'entity', he doesn't control the blue arm. There is an orange arm that is his own energy of sorts. For my arts sake I wanted everyones soul/energy to be a different colour, or even multiple colours depending on their life experience or even the people that have been a part of their lives.
The black arm is a corrupted mish mash of Noboru and others, I liked to think of so many colours coming together that it's just a black void. It's a story thing I wanted to work on maybe at some point so I wasn't sure how much I wanted to post about it hah.
