Mini comic on HTTYD!! ^^ Enjoy it!This is a question I have often asked myself while watching the movie.
It is the fault of Hiccup if Toothless is like that but it does not probably know. And it should probably disrupt Hiccup ... T_T

They have a great brother... Possibly even a father/son bond ^^

They have a sort of father/son bond, because Toothless tookΒ moreΒ better care of Hiccup than Stoick (Even more than Gobber or anybody else in the Tribe) ever had while he was away to find the Dragon's Nest, protecting the boy from Hookfang when Stoick caused theΒ Monstrous Nightmare to attack from the sound of ringing metal, he even tried to protect the boy from the Berk people and Stoick (Mostly from Stoick, because he's the leader and sees him as the strongest of his people) when they came to get him (Even though he almost killed Stoick and stopped his attack when Hiccup told him 'No!')... So, frankly, Toothless makes a better father than Stoick ever has (Even though he became a better father after the defeat of Red Death).
They also have a brother bond, because they're one in the same the moment they first made eye-contact with each other, they both help each other out like brothers would do when trouble were to come, and they're both willing to sacrifice (Or even die) for each other for the sake of having one of them (Which, ended up saving both of them) to live on... And, sinceΒ SnotloutΒ is Hiccup's older cousin, Toothless would make a better relative/sibling than Snotlout could ever be (It may seem hard to see, but Snotlout does show some respect for Hiccup and is starting to care for him ever since the boy almost died from the Red Death, even though he hides it with his tough-guy, Alpha-dominant, stubborn attitude).
