Description Based on Nordic folklore.

During Easter time it was common that witches made them selves a servant that would steal for her everything she wanted.
It had manny names. Trollhare,Mjölkhare,Pukhare,Pucken,Puck,Bjära,Trollkatten,Baran,Bärarn,Tilberi,Snakkur,Para etc.
It also came in manny forms.Mostly it was a hare but it could also be a cat, bird or even look like a rolling ball of yarn.
In some stories the Trollhare is given to her by Satan but mostly she makes one herself.
The best time to make it is on MAUNDY THURSDAY between midnight an one in the morning.
There are several ways to make a Trollhare.
Some of the ingredients can be butter, dirt, ash, metal from church bells, blood from your own fingers and a living snake.
In one documented description from Jämtland in Sweden it's made of a ball of calf or cat hair thats been wrapped three thursday nights in woll thread in nine colors and in the third night three droops of blood from the left finger is dripped on it.
In an Icelandic description on how it's made the witch must first dig up a human rib from the graveyard early on WHITSUNDAY,wrap it in grey woll and preserve it between her breast.
The next three sundays at communion she has to spit three times the holy whine on the bundle wich will come alive on the third spit.
When the witch is gonna send it out for stealing, she throughs it over her left shoulder and says...

"Jag har gett dig blod, Fan ska ge dig mod.Du ska för mig på jorden springa, Jag ska för dig i Helvetet brinna"!
"I have given you blood, the Devil shall give you courage. For me you shall on the earth run, For you I shall in Hell burn"!

The Trollhare then went out and stole whatever she wanted.
It was mostly known for stealing milk from the farmers.
It would suck the milk from the cow and then go back to the witch and spew it in her chum.
Sometimes it drained it so much that the cattle died.
The witch made butter of the stolen milk that she later gave to Satan at the sabbath.
This was in the old days the explanation why the cattle couldn't give any milk, it had simply been stolen.
To protect themselves the farmers painted crosses with tar on the doors and even on the animals backs.
They could also lay steel on the doorstep and hang up wormwood over the entrance.

The Trollhare is said to move so quickly that it can only bee killed in specific ways.
Like a magic gun or silverbullets or sometimes it can only be killed with fire.
If it's wounded or destroyed the same thing is said to happened to its creator.

The slime mold (Fuligo Septica) aka dog vomit and troll dung is said to be the Trollhares faeces and can revile where the witch lives.

According to historians the Trollhare is a possible ancestor to todays Easterbunny.

Think about that the next time you go searching for eggs!

The Easter bunny was St. Peter, but the early Christians wouldn't let Leonardo DaVinci paint him as a rabbit when he did The Last Supper, so he painted him as a man instead, but he left subliminal clues telling us that he was actually a rabbit. St. Peter was the first Pope, so that tell us Jesus didn't wan a man to become Pope, because men can be intolerant, but a rabbit was pure. Look at the Pope's fancy hat for example, doesn't it look weird? That's because the hat was actually meant to fit over a rabbit's ears an sit comfortably atop its head! So to protect the spirit of Easter Leonardo DaVinci and his associates founded a secret society known as the Hare Club for Men... Also, I watch a lot of South Park.

chricko In reply to AnnieMsson [2013-04-07 08:33:34 +0000 UTC]

Haha tack!
Först tänkte jag ge henne svart hår men jag tyckte att det skulle smälta in för mycket med den mörka bakgrunden.
Jo en hel del av de gamla traditionerna har glömts bort och tagits över av de nya kommersiella.

This was really a fascinating bit of mythology to start my day (and with another wonderfully repulsive painting to go with it)! Thank you very much!
