Description
A stranger from a strange land, NICOLE has been an invaluable asset to OMEGA and indeed the combined forces of Mobians and Humanity together. Arriving from a world that she cannot speak of only that a terrible war ravaged her home, NICOLE came into the care of Sally Acorn, though in 3239, she became Chris' traveling companion, and arguably was what kept him sane through his run from President Troy Marshall's men.

NICOLE was granted a Human military designation NCL-3235-1, indicating the year of her discovery, though she was not an AI used by Humanity's forces. Instead, she is technically private property. NICOLE allows a very small group of people to use her software, usually established by trust.

NICOLE is unique as an AI as the techniques used to create her are not known. Human-made AIs feel odd conversing with her, as she it not constructed with a Riemann Matrix - the only known method to create Smart AIs, recycled from brain matter. No known blueprints exist for her construction, no notes exist, and a powerful firewall coded in an unknown language prevents any coder from breaking the seals on her own specifications, though her data access rate and clock speed is on par with Smart AIs. NICOLE does not even know why she takes the form of a Mobian lynx, as her own decisions locked within her files.

As she does not conform to AI construction, she cannot suffer from Rampancy - a concept unknown to her upon her arrival. She is also not governed by the Three Laws of Robotics no matter her power state. As such, she can, if she wishes, cause harm to Humans, or indeed, any sentient life form. However, her personality rarely forces her to do so. She is a peaceful AI who would prefer to be informative rather than forceful.

She did not speak English upon her arrival in May of 3235, but learned quickly, proving that she was willing and able to pick up whatever skills were necessary to survive in this new world.

NICOLE is a character I have grown to like, especially through my usage of her in Deception where she was Chris' only friend. As such, they tend to think highly of each other. In a way, Sally's personality of looking after her Human rubbed off on the AI.
