Description Actually prob'ly belongs in Scraps, seeing as I spent less than a day on it, but I liked how it came out for the amount of time I put into it

This is an Ascended Sleeper from Morrowind, the highest order of the Sixth House cultists, distorted greatly in body and spirit by some unknown effect of worshipping Dagoth Ur but formidable in magic.

Bic pencil on printer paper, ~2 hours.

Hail Dagoth Ur!
...firth thing that came to my mind^^
It looks great, really nice rendition of the Sleeper. I so love them... The flesh distortion comes from the divine knowledge bloating their bodies and turning them into divine creatures similar to the Daedra. Seeing that Lorkhan's energy is rather Daedric as well due to his Padomaic origins we can probably affirm that awaken Ash creatures are Daedras belonging to no prince. It's not for nothing that their souls are so huge, that's divinity^^

Dagoth was so awesome when I think about it, except that it turned insane but he was really a good guy. And he wanted to share divinity with all dark elves! I wonder if the Altmer saw this as the ultimate Dunmeri blasphem: recreating the bound with the spiritual world of gods through Lorkhan, the very one they blame for breaking this link?

Wow Vixen xD nice to see you here talking about that sweet TES lore. You have such interested ideas on things in the games. I honestly wonder if the writers go this deep and maybe your over analyzing a bit, no offense. Still, pretty freakin epic.

They do go this deep, yes, at least Michael Kirkbride does. He's the one who wrote most of the religious books, including the Lessons of Vivec and commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes. Those books may seem unreadable and meaningless but actually you have to go beyond words to reach the true meaning, it's very obscure but MK has a very clear vision of the TES lore he created. When I read his books again I realize that I'm right in my understandment, that it was always there, written in front of us, from the beginning.
And MK is already writing the events of the 5th Era! We're always late to understand his schemes even though he gives hints, they're always very hard to interprete correctly, it's like a "divine language" with its spiritual codes.

MK said the Dwemer are gone and not coming back, that they ascended in the shape of the golden brass skin of Numidium. Yet some of them remained as ghosts or in flesh like Bagarn. MK keeps on plotting but Bethesda also works on its own so we can still have surprises.

Dude thats so cool! I'll have to look this guy up, seems really awesome. And I'm sure they do have some meaning, very deep metaphysical meaning that's hard for me to grasp xD. And dude, the damn Dwemer need to return in either a massive dlc or an expansion for Skyrim.

5th Era?! What, we're just now in the 4th. It's only been two hundred years brah! They need to quit making new Era's! lol

I'd rather think the return of the Dwemer should be in TES 7 (TES 6 being Alinor: kicking Thalmor arses), such a major event couldn't be a dlc or expansion, or it could only be the premices... I need to find some time to play again to manage to get that damn quest allowing to get Keening, I so WANT to see it! Seriously, I'm even thinking of modeling Wraithguard and Sunder, that would be awesome and very useful to solve a quest I've thought of.
And if I could model a set of Indoril amor... but this would take a little time.

Dude I DEMAND to have the fucking Dwemer return. It would be my biggest nerd dream lol, and maybe in the next game after that we could play as one! xD idk, big idea, probably not gonna happen.

Man that quest glitched on mine. When you have to use flames on the dwemer convectors, it wont give me the quest update. I were sadface.

Indoril armor in Skyrim would look fucking awesome.

noxfoxArts In reply to PunkRoctorok [2012-05-17 17:52:07 +0000 UTC]

hahaha, then I demand that we can cure Falmers from their mutation, breed or whatever to restore the race and play as one as well XD And discover some damn wicked Maormers too!
It would be cool to see some Dwemers back, even if it was just Yagrum Bagarn, we haven't heard from him. I don't think Fyr would disappear so easily or let his old friend and most precious specimen to die, he'd rather leave on some Daedric planes. They must be in Moon Shadow, Azura's plane, since Fyr had good relation with her and it's surely friendly her than Dagon's Deadlands

And we haven't seen any dreugh... I can imagine the waters of Skyrim are maybe a bit too cold, and the ones from Morrowind may have suffered a lot from the Oblivion Crisis and the Red Year though... ...I like dreughs.

If it's just that the quest didn't update you can update the quest manually with a console command, it's surely given on the UESP

So fucking awesome AND so fucking sexy... Indorils are so badass. It was awesome in Morrowind how wearing the armor could get all guards after you, we felt the sacred and forbidden at that time!

I honestly remember reading about the Falmer before Skyrim came out, as you probably knew as well. I like how TES plans out their lore, how the Thu'um was talked about in the Morrowind-Daggerfall era, and they made it a big thing in this game. Star Wars, and I may be betraying my nerd heritage by saying this, but I find they tend to just bullshit things as they go and it seems a bit sloppy.

The dreughs in Morrowind? I would always have to kill droves of those and slaughterfish assholes while swimming around Vvardenfell. fuck them lol. Land dreugh were pretty cool, I don't know much about them either though.

I'm on Xbox . I hope to get a good enough gaming PC someday.

If I ever get Skyrim PC I am downloading your book mods, I swear. And of course, if you make that sexy armor, you don't even have to ask.

Indeed, even the Thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominion already existed back to the 2nd Era and until the beginning of the 3rd Era if I'm not mistaking my history classes. That's really how I like to do the things as well, twist plot devices here and there to get the epic out of them

The dreughs are creatures left unknown since long, probably because they are aquatic creatures and dwell in a land that can't be conquered easily. But they're said to have been once one of the most intelligent races with a very advanced technology and great powers. Vivec credit them for several deeds including changing his mother's reproductive organs in way she could bear her child in an egg. Now that's Vivec and his words could be much metaphoric or whatsoever. Yet he's the one who cursed the dreughs to turn them into witless creatures.

I hope you'll have the chance to get a PC, TES games are really best enjoyed with mod in my opinion^^

Very impressive picture. Reminds me of the first time I fought one of these guys. They themselves are sort of creepy-looking, but nothing out of the ordinary in Vvardenfell. Then you kill one and they're reduced to that horribly mutated skull. Ugh. The fact that they were once men (or elves, I suppose) is the icing on the grossness cake.

God, I HATE these things. I don't care if they run at a top speed of 0.001mph, they scare the living shit out of me every time I see them. And I've beaten all three main quests in the Bloodmoon/Tribunal bundle to be the strongest thing alive (health-replenish code ftw). If it weren't for how easy they are to find and soul-trap, I'd avoid them and any place with red candles or ash-storms FOREVER.

They are really darn freaky.. I'm still a fan of Morrowind, and among its many virtues is some GREAT concept design (execution was hit-and-miss in places, but hell, it was made almost 10 years ago). I love what they did with the Sleepers.

Crash-Ichimonji In reply to chrisbeaver [2011-08-02 15:39:10 +0000 UTC]

I do. I love how horribly creepy the bastards are (plus their Nietzsche-esque thinking about everything you do will be meaningless in the end). I thought the werewolf design was also well-done in Bloodmoon. Most werewolf designs lean in favor of how Underworld made them with the large hulking bodies. But Bloodmoon went with the fact that wolves are lean creatures in their body size and so a human-wolf bastardization should be the same (also considering that the lone-surviving Dwemer aside, there's no fat or big people in the game to begin with).

Now that you put it that way, it kind of is meaningless as soon as Red Mountain went BOOM~

Aiiee! Run away! The first tme I saw one of these guys, I actually screamed and fell out of my chair. Although, that was when I was using cheats and wandering around everywhere, and my friend who usually freaks out when a video game surprises her was there, adding to the sense of scariness. Very creepy, they are.

My workflow is usually to chip away at something on-and-off for a wider space of time, obviously with the exception of school projects. I don't mean to say that ANYONE'S work of less than a day is scrap-worthy, but for me it's usually the case ::

I like 'em. They're prob'ly my favorite creature design in the game, beside the Daedroth and Winged Twilight, and they're suitably scary to run into cuz even at high levels it's hard to whack 'em in one hit or walk away unscathed.

Plus you can talk to 'em, if you're good enough to sneak up on them

This turned out simply brilliant. You are right about them being great mages. The number of times I have levitated clear above the red mountain and suddenly recieved a lightnight bolt to the souls of my boots doesn't come worth to counting. I use the spell god's inferno it take them out in one full head on shot. then hit levitation again
