I'm not sure whether I like your version or the other version better (you added a kinda green atmospheric color) but either way I think this is some seriously amazing piece of art!

I found this after Googling for any image of 3840x1200, it came up here , this has got to be one of the most beautiful space scenes I have seen on the internet, and one of the only duel 16:10 wallpapers worthy of my desktop. absolutely marvellous!

A cosmic view indeed. Marvelous colors, deep and rich with glowing highlights well controlled.
I also find the structural elements of the ship fascinating; obviously build by an alien intelligence.
