Description
Part of a story i'm working on right now.It is a very slow process, although I have no idea how long it usually takes to write and paint graphic novels, but i'm trying to speed things up anyway
Also, maybe some of you guys can suggest a few novels to me, i'm trying to read as many as possible to get a feeling for it. I prefer to read only fantasy for now because mine own will be in the fantasy genre and i dont want to be influenced by sci-fi or anything. But if it's just something mind-blowingly awesome i'll read it even if it's not fantasy
thanks.

LIKE LIKE LIKE! It seems to me like this creature is self reflecting, realizing what it is, finding the meaning, showing that even evil has the reason to live. there is a depth in this portrayal of demonic usually mindless beings. I wonder what is it that he's plotting.

Awesome work. I'd suggest the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson.

Very nightmarish. I love the movement and the texture, and the three-dee feel.
Best of luck with your story.
I'm currently reading The Drowning City by Amanda Downum; I'd recommend it not only for the plot line, but also for the set up of scenery and characters and emotive feel. It's very good, even though I haven't finished it.
Otherwise, The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, and the following Golden Fool trilogy. Actually anything by her. She's pretty amazing.

Love it. VERY much!
As for books to read, I'm currently on my way to finishing the third in a Trilogy called The Twilight War. Your work here made me think about it, it's all about light & shadow gods and their servants and the war between them (not only between light & shadow, but shadow vs. shadow).

Fanfreakintastic work, Chris! Truly teh coolness. I don't really have a mind-blowing book to suggest, especially since great contemporary sci-fi is hard to come by these days (they just don't write them like they used to), so I'd just write my own, and I'm glad to see you are too.

Seriously reminds me of an abstract version of "Spawn". The look on his face seems to project some form of demonic-like discovery, like some new born demon. The added effect of depth from the swirling tendrils adds a complete sense of movement as though his body is coming together. What looks like two eyes (Maybe the dark segment is meant to be a pupil?) adds a sense of natural animosity - not unlike staring at the eight eyes of a spider.
Truly do love it man - it's my wallpaper at the moment and will probably stay up there for quite some time.

I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere of this picture!!
I've heard that the Nicholas Flammel series isn't half bad, but I'm not entirely sure if it'd be what you're looking for. I have never read it. Any of Stephen King books are great too, they are usually dark fantasy and horror.
