Description Not merely the king of the Gerudo, after all...

I tried a few new things in photoshop, and instead of relying on dodge/burn and the original lineart, and so many other effects, I just laid down some basic colour and treated it like a painting. I love the result, I think I'll do future coloured works this way!

Oh, I think I had close to a 100 hour count before I let myself complete the game. In many cases, I had the option to go further but I stayed behind and explored every knook and cranny. I love doing that

I'm the same -- I did everything but collect all the poes before I beat it. But tell me were those last few battles AWESOME or what?!

OOOOOOOOOOH YEAH. The fight with Ganon felt like a real sword fight. I just wish they had more boss fights like that. Or more dark knuts ya know? Its great when you find goblins, but I wish more the enemies had been that one on one, or two on one feel you always got with dark knuts. My other favorite battle was with the zombie dragon. That was such an intense fast pace battle. Zooming around. So sad that after that it barely used that item, it had some awesome potential. Great boss battle. The demon pig was cool too.

There were so many awesome fights. The zombie dragon -- the skeletal one in the Arbitor's ground?

I loved the way they utilised each item and made each fight unique. But to come down to a bare, brawling sword fight, CLASSIC! I was in love.

=== yep. It was so fast paced with the hoverdisk, zooming around the areana dodging spiky things.

That battle was so hard for me to figure out at first -- the first part, I mean. I didn't realise that jumping with the spinner thingy damaged stuff

dragonfish09 In reply to Chrishankhah [2007-07-13 18:36:45 +0000 UTC]

yeah I know, I kept trying to shot him, but then I realized that bumping him with the spinner. Oh what fun! Zooming through zombies bashing them like some sorta of topsy turvy extreme sports samurai! Hey did you hear about E3? The newest Zelda for the Wii is going to be a minigame collection. Instead of battling Ganon for the Triforce in single combat, you are going to go against him in a wide array of fun minigames like "Whack a Deku" and a rock paper scissors game called "Power, Wisdom, Courage"

You got a lot to improve on this (frankly, he doesn't look as fearsome as he did in OOT), but it's a very good start. Ganon in OOT is so very difficult to do, I know because I've tried.

One of my biggest problems is the swords. They look pretty harmless and small compared to Ganon, he also seems pretty small for Ganon.

Ganon is HUGE. No matter what LOZ game it is, Ganon could take Diablo on any day of the week, and I'm sure there's many online forums that have argued about that sort of thing endlessly.

Keep trying!

Chrishankhah In reply to CezainValsol [2007-06-09 02:10:00 +0000 UTC]

I just gave him dagger-versions of his swords. I'm not sure how he can seem small, otherwise. There's nothing to compare here, so the only thing I can think of is the matter of perspective. If you have any particular suggestions let me know.

What I suggested is all I have, really. Sorry if I came off like an ass. I had someone say "how about I just leave it as it is, chief"? :S

Well, constructive criticism in and of itself isn't a bad thing.

But generally, there's a point where an artist has simply deemed a work of art "finished" -- no intention to work on it any more or something like that. Like this piece -- it wouldn't be easy at all to go back and change his daggers, swords, whatever. They've already been drawn and painted in and detailed. I also really wouldn't know how to go about changing his size, since there's really nothing to compare it to. Criticising something that is beyond the point an artist can really help it only makes the artist feel discouraged and bitter. We like to have a certain pride about our work.

Constructive criticism on finished works is usually better off in generalities. "This is great -- i notice how you did such and such, though. For future pieces maybe pay a bit more attention to..." Get what I mean? Just a thought on what might have irritated that artist.

I know with literature, it's quite the opposite. Small details are easy to fix, larger criticisms would involve almost a complete rewrite. Know what I'm driving at? It's all for the better, but some things are incredibly difficult to adjust without an entire rework, and that's just hard for some people to get to.

You can apply constructive criticism to anything.

It's up to you what you take from it.

Someone else got mad at me for giving criticism and I wasn't even being an ass, so this discussion ends here. Sorry. I've had enough DA drama before. I just won't give constructive criticism again.

Chrishankhah In reply to CezainValsol [2007-06-10 03:48:06 +0000 UTC]

*shrug* I wasn't meaning to be critical. Just giving perspective.

I don't do the whole drama thing.

Probably the most emotive part of the game. I swear. I first played him when i was like 12, or 11... Young!

You've done so well on that picture, definate Favorite no second thoughts! I can't comment critically, not knowing enough about what you've done! But to say the least, i think it's magnificent!

Cheers, Luke

I was thrilled with it for the short fight we had. Was actually hoping the pig/boar/beast fight would be more elaborate and dramatic.

What followed certainly did fill that void though! ..

It's Ganon, from the Zelda series, so Nintendo is certainly responsible. But it works within the fanart realm.

My personal ideal of evil would probably be a bit different.
