Description "The polar ice caps are melting!"
"Are water has turned to acid!"
"The world is going to burn in a few short years!"
"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!"

Climate Change activist strive on pushing fear towards people. They overly discuss how the world is going to end because of climate change. If we don't do something about it, the world is going to blow up. Fear and listening in on what's said instead of doing research is what drives people to do crazy things.

I don’t think saving our environment should be a controversial topic. Right now the USA gets a once a century hurricane every year, all Australia is on fire and many parts of Atlantic Canada are seeing rising oceans displace people

people are afraid and rightly so, we shouldn’t take it easy because earth doesn’t look like Venus yet

Agreed. But pushing a fear propaganda isn't the way to go either. You don't get things done by protesting and making people "aware". The only way to fix what damage is done is by doing the actual work yourself.

You're scared of deforestation? Plant new trees or raise enough money to buy acres of land so companies can't cut them down.

You want to keep oceans clean? Clean up the trash that's on the beach and in the ocean.

You want to stop pollution? Reduce your carbon footprint by riding a bike, taking the bus, or reduce the amount of driving. Plus it'll save you on gas.

Garbage in the streets? Pick it up and throw it away.

These are minor things that can help make a major impact in the world. But with all the issues going on in the world. There are some good things.

Blue Whales are no longer endanger species.
Rainforests are regrowing.
The hole in ozone layer has drastically shrunk.
Bee Population is on the rise again.
One man, planted more than 20,000,000 trees.
The marijuana plant is being used to create beneficial products such as an alternative to paper.

I'm not saying don't pretend like the world is not in trouble, but pushing fear isn't helping out either. Both don't help, nothing gets done if you do either.

Stop me if I'm reading this wrong, but your suggestion is personal action? Action of individuals and not system wide changes? changes like the banning of fracking, investment in green energy by the state and environmental repair projects larger than any seen since the Dust bowl era. Or perhaps shutting off all subsidies to oil companies

I guess what I'm asking is do you see this purely as an issue of individual responsibility ?

It is the responsibility of the individual. It's like living in a house and not cleaning up or having somebody else clean it while you continue to do nothing and even sometimes the other person does a terrible job. The government involvement doesn't work at all. For example, the California Ban on Straw that supposed to keep straw from ending up the ocean by taking away everyone's straw, but fails to actually do anything to clean up what already is in the ocean.

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be organizations, but they should be of individuals who actually take responsibility in cleaning trash, planting trees, and helping the environment.

If you want things done right, you have to do it yourself. Here's said example of what I mean  www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEnaEq…

This is so true! I agree with the green movement that we should use less fossil fuels and more sustainable energy. However, I think many of their claims are exaggerated or even false. The other month, I remember this guy saying that we have 18 months to save the planet. If in another 16 months nothing has really changed, it will say a lot...

I have heard other people suggest using nuclear energy as a greener alternative to coal. It might be a good idea, but at the same time, there are fears we could end up with Chernobyl 2.0...
