Tumblr Twitter Facebook Print ShopI started this thing back about a month after Splatoon first came out, once I became an S rank Squiddo. Then I posted some wip teaser shots on tumblr and forgot about it. Then, a few days ago, I found it once again on my hard drive and finally finished it haha. This game is probably my game of the year for 2015 by far, I still play it every now and again when there's a new splatfest. Inspired by this piece of official art

Thank you! At first I was going to make it a lot more cartoony and flat, but I got bored of that real fast. It also ended up looking way too much like the artstyle of the game's concept art. I love that style, but it's not something i wanted to imitate haha.

I just love how weird, alien the Octarians are and you have captured it so well.
And the Great Octoweapons (I'm looking at YOU Octostomp)...
Needless to say the colour, shading Etc on this is great.
(I am also honestly surprised by how much I have come to actually like this game... The Octarians sold me a Wii-U...

Hey, thanks for the kind words! Yes aside from the octolings, the octarians are quite the contrast to the inklings. I really like their design, they are really silly looking but at the same time kind unsettling. The Octostomp I feel exemplifies that the most, it's literally just a giant stupid face. But it's huge, and moves WAY too fast and jerkily, and is trying very hard to crush you to death, so it ends up being scary in a way!
