Description
My first chainsaw carving after the sanding and burning and coat of varnish. Anybody can do this project...safety first!I am making copper birds for the two perches and will be finding a candle around here somewhere for the center.

I have had a rough year since making that carving (it sold quick by the way) I am going to attempt a northwest Indian totem pole next.

Thank you Karla It was a fun experience to have.. I have been studying some more carving books and cant wait to start the next one. The late snowfall is delaying me somewhat. (friggen cold) And it was decided by my cat that a plant is to be put inside the carving. Something with vines to trail out. The lady next to me really likes it and might buy it. The copper additions really enhanced it.

The grain did not stand out until I took a torch to it to burn the wood slightly. It is a good piece of cedar.

You should try one David. Electric saws are not as strong so it will just take a little longer to achieve the results,, do it man!
