Description
Yew wood table project #1One of the neighbors had some trees felled last year and I was gifted this tree because it was no good for burning.
This is Oregon yew and it is fairly rare with a wonderful strong grain. When not bent and twisted like this log it is
used for wood bows for archery because of its strength. The log I was gifted is 25' and most of it is salvageable.
This piece took about 20 hours of debarking and sanding and digging bark out of the nooks and crannies. Am
looking for a slab to finish for the top to finish it.

Hey Darren! Please post a pic if you can!! Black Walnut is my favorite for the backs of the dulcimers.... It looks so beautiful when the feature comes out..
Live edge is most awesome for stair treads!

That seems to be a fair market price for quality Walnut... You make sure to post some pics!!! I always get excited to see the end results on wood crafting
The tub can be done for sure, build it up in layers on the edges and then sand the center out do the finish work and Bam! 4k!...

I cant wait to finish it! Going to look for a slab of maple for the top and also a small base piece for the bottom. Have interest already from the pub in town.
The color of the wood is incredible! You can see some at the top of the base, looks like fire!
Thank you David!!
