Description
Here's one of the studies I did in the last couple of days. This was supposed to become a storyboard for class, but I kinda said "screw it" and used the subject for concept art studiesStill much to learn, but I got a lot better at drawing mountains!
hope you dig it!

Gotta ask, did you use any special brushes for the snow, or did you do it "by hand", or so to speak? There's also something about the air in this one I can't put my finger on, it feels like you're looking through a frosty window from a cottage somewhere or something, it looks great
The reason I'm asking is because I've been trying to sketch out some scenery-studies myself, but I've never gotten past the sketch stadium because I can't get the hang of it
Any tips for a beginner, maybe?

Hey thank you so much! Well first off: I'm a beginner at this too, but I'll gladly share whar knowledge I could pick up until now^^
So Yeah, for some of the textures I used special brushes that I made. It's hard to explain how I made my brush choices. It usually just feels right at a point. There are a lot of concept artists here who made their brush collections available, so you should definitely pick some of those up For the rest I mostly used the default round brush , always at a 80-90% opacity.
One last thing: When you have the sketch, try immediately to get rid of all the white space in the picture by putting on a gradient. Once the white is gone it's much more confortable to work on. Almost feels like working on a real cavas, and as I see , you have a lot of experience on there The rules are the same when it comes to digital coloring. Just see it as a canvas and you of all people here will be very fine^^
