Very well done - especially the hundreds of sailors in the water. Is it supposed to be HMS Hood or another ship?

Duke of Wellington once said: "The only sadder thing than battle won is the battle lost" - or something like this... and this is exactly why - the whole picture is stunning and wonderful. Yet the things it invoke are sorrow and dread. Trully, a horror. I

awesome artwork there. There's very little in the world that can match the sorrow of seeing such a majestic warship sink beneath the waves, dragging her frantic crew down with her as she take the final plunge... again, beautiful scene, really captures the essence of the moment.

A beautiful yet sorrowful image, hopefully there's a destroyer nearby to pick the survivors up.
I think the ship in the background is a sister ship of the sinking vessel but can't really be certain.

Splendid picture, from an alternate world. The British (and that's clearly a British built ship, by the tripod mast and general look) never lost any ships with that particular turret and mast configuration. Near as I can make out, it's Dreadnought herself there. Mast aft of the funnel, wing turrets that can't cross deck fire, and torpedo nets narrow it down pretty good...by the time anyone else used tripods, torpedo nets were mostly gone, if not entirely.
(After writing this, I rechecked my book quickly, and didn't find any other possible ships that it could be, though it looks like Dreadnought got her forward funnel lengthened.)

I just looked at my post here again, and wanted to make sure my appreication for the amazing image wasn't lost in my attempt to ID the ship. It's fantastic. (I just have a love of both warships and alternate history that matches my love of boxing)
