I think it looks good. Love how the sun is shining in her face and this contrast between her warm-colored skin and green attire and background. And I love her stern face expression and the wavy hair.

Small complaint: her hand is at the wrong side of the bow. You need to keep the arrow on the outer side of the hand, not the finger side. Otherwise you either won't be able to shoot, or you will harm yourself doing so.Β

So, what's the end conclusion. Is Sun-Sky better than sun node?

I've done a few other test renders and the conclusion is: they're exactly the same thing. The node just lets you control the direction without having to worry about times, dates, dome orientations etc. The only benefit of using the dome controls is that each time you render it's a slight surprise where the light will fall, but if you know where you want the light coming from a node is much easier. But in no test was the lighting "better" than the other.

And look, she's been hunting since she was tall enough to carry a bow- she knows what she's doing Β

But then I thought you cannot use the "draw dome" option with the sun node, or does that work fine as well?Β

I don't know how long or how succesfull she's been hunting, but her hand is on the wrong side.

You can't use the draw dome option in the render tab, but if you load the environment tab separately you can apply it under "backdrop" or, leave the sky transparent and add the sky in later in post work.

Of course, but then with Sun-Sky you can also use the draw dome AND all the other options. It's just convenient in my opinion if you don't have a suiting background as stock. But then one could argue it's a lazy solution...

She's very well done (and quite attractive), - looks like you put a lot of work into it.
nitpicks: the model of archery you used is full of errors - see links: erogenesiscgi.deviantart.com/a… andΒ  hitmanwa.deviantart.com/art/Tu… - Her grip on the bowstring should be with her fingertips, the arrow should be on the other side of the bow and completely above her hand, her left arm should be completely straight (and she should ideally be wearing a bracer on that arm - bowstrings sting), and, finally, she should be facing her target with her left shoulder pointing directly at it.

I actually first thought it was a photoshopped picture of the main character in Hunger Games.

I'd like to remind you that just about everywhere, it's COLD (possibly AF) at 7:30 AM.Β

It's a wonderfully well rendered piece though.Β

Nice picture and render, great lighting. I find the position a little odd, though

That's what you get for posing without references!! It occurred to me that her bow arm should be completely outstretched only after I uploaded. Ahh well.
