Amongst Chris' somewhat eclectic gallery of Deviant Art is this interesting piece: art imitating art (and not for the first time - see Talille Statue for example). With its excellent composition, gentle lighting and minimalist dark background, this intriguing 3D-rendered model of a model looks very realistic (for the most part). It depicts a scarred dwarf and his inquisitive canine companion. The grass and rocks complete the scene wonderfully, especially since the grass looks fake because it's _supposed_ to be fake! Overall the textures, colours and fur are very well done. The only significant exception is, unfortunately, the material texture of the dwarf's brown clothing, which is stretched between his legs and lessens the feeling of realism as a result. Also (though this is only a minor quibble), I would have liked to see some gloss/shine on the wooden plinth instead of the dull finish that's depicted here. Finally, I should note the firearm in the dwarf's left hand. It's something that I rarely see in fantasy-themed media and, as such, adds to the uniqueness of the piece.

Probably due to lack of breasts... Having a beast is great and all, but that extra 'r' makes all the difference! Seriously though, I'm interested to know if you've noticed any patterns in the feedback you've received over the years.

Well from 1000 watchers to 2000 watchers, I don't get any more likes/comments etc as you might expect.
I know I can rely on a fantastic group of 'core' watchers to comment and support - and they're really the ones I care about and keep posting for although I appreciate everyone who Llamas or Faves my work.
Then I have my smaller group of regulars that I do commission work for, but contact with them is mainly through notes.
