More than 17 thousand years ago, near the height of the first ancient yaetuan era, yaetuan faiths were strong and dictated their cultures greatly. Unlike many yaetuans in the present day, who view the universe as being guided by unfathomable, neutral abstract spirits, yaetuans in ancient Uta put their likenesses on the forces of nature and gave them names. As the ancient culture had access to not nearly the wealth of science nor technology today, many of the world's natural circumstances and phenomena were left unexplainable, without the help of magic and the gods.

These mystical cultural deities were very esoteric and out of reach for many commoners in ancient Uta, however the utan kingdom and its royalty did not lack in trying. In the distant past many kings and queens would beseech the aid of oracles, shamans, and other holy men to contact the gods and goddesses, providing them what they believed to be helpful information in predicting weather, astronomical events, and clairvoyance.

Sosila, an old man, was one of these seers who aided the ancient kingdom in contacting their deities. Using sensory deprivation, hallucinogenic substances and esoteric traditions, he in his eyes served the kingdom by corresponding regularly with the ancient goddess of the ocean, Tenkha. In his day he was consulted to help glean information in possible future events, as well as weather patterns during the summer and spring.
