Description
What 80's kid didn't like Transformers? I didn't stick with them forever like some fans have, but as a kid, Transformers was the bee's knees. Unlike the Turtles though...I hated trying to draw them. They were too hard for me to get right. Painting this reminded me of why I didnt like drawing them, but I was on a nostalgia kick.Oils on masonite

I came across this one while in a very 80's mood. Definitely nailed Prime right here, I am really impressed. Simply put he looks ready to take on literally anything that the universe could throw at him, and has a really nice feel to the whole picture. Going straight into favourites!

You don't like drawing them ? Hum. But you seem to like painting them ^^. Your textures work really fit this subject.

Nah, not my thing. I like organic subjects more than hard edged type things. I do love working on textures though heh. Thank you.

I'll try to apply this to my robots, then (on my other gallery). It gives me ideas

Well, you've got a new fan. Your style is amazing. And as always, these probably look even better in real life.

Your oil paintings rock, and this is one of the best pieces of Transformers art I've ever seen.

of course. I would die to see more Transformers characters in this style!! I hope you end up doing that, and I bet you could get them published as cover art by someone.

I really, really like the simple complimentary colors you've used here. And seeing your brushwork and knowing it's "real" makes me happy.

This is so effing boss! Not enough people try to traditionally paint the Transformers. This is so refreshing. Love your work to death. I want this is a print or poster because it is 100 times better than all the crappy Transformers posters that have come out over the last couple of years - stupid "Bayformers"!!
Keep up this work! I honestly think you've taken to oils almost like a fish to water. Everything is bold, expressive, colorful, and lively; just like your marker stuff. Its crazy how you've almost translated the look of your marker work into the paint medium. DC and Marvel need to hire you more NOW!!!

I always want to get too detailed when I draw them, I need to draw them like they did in the cartoon instead of with every gear and stuff=] this musta been fun and stressful at the same time! Great job though!

Yeah, I didn't have that problem hehe. I just copied an actual Optimus toy mostly. Nice and blocky with very few real details.
Thanks.
