Hey folks. I've been asked a few times (or a few hundred times hehe) about my process so I'm going to go ahead and do a step by step. It's not going to cover every little thing, but it should give a decent idea of how I work.

1. This scan is the typical line drawing that I do as a base plus some blacks that I've added.

I generally don't flesh out the pencils any more than this. I want the board to be as clean as possible. If I'm trying something new with the shading, I might do a quick light pencil shading to see if it's working though.

As I've told many folks, I always start with the darks and work to the lights. In this piece, I chose to go straight for the blacks. I softened the edges here and there with a dry marker to help with blending.
