"Sun Tzu once said: In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity. When a hundred thousand mushroom clouds brought the human era to an end, vast quantities of radioactive fallout entered the oceans, accelerating the rate of mutations and thus evolution. Eighty thousand years later, the Atomic Coelacanth is the undisputed apex predator of most of the world-ocean, and one of the few animals which has directly weaponised the radioactive isotopes still present in the ecosystem. In order to hunt prey, the Atomic Coelacanth will use accumulated fissile material to ignite a small fission reaction in it’s throat, the energy of which is then directed out it’s mouth. This “Atomic Breath” lasts up to ten seconds, has a total energy output of up to 50MJ, and can kill a target hundreds of meters away."
