It's finally out! After a month and a half of work, here's FeltTip 4.
Much thanks to EnjoyDiary for sponsoring this version of the set. The license has changed slightly, from Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial to Attribution-ShareAlike. More information can be found within the readme included. You can read ~Anarres and my discussion abouth this at [link]
The download contains pngs of several sizes, and the source svgs. All of the content is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, so you are free to modify and use it elsewhere. More info can be found at [link]

I've been using FT Retouched for a while β are these likely to be adapted for use with Pidgin as well?

I'm running on Linux too - you should be able to unzip the file using Gnome's file-roller, KDE's ARK, or "unzip" on the command line. Hope this helps.

I tried, but then it gave me a million folders and icons, and drag and drop didn't work with them like it did the .tar
Which version are you usuing I'm on FC4

Aha. Are you trying to install FeltTip in gaim? If so, the gaim package can be found at [link] . Otherwise, I'm not sure what you are trying to install the icons into. The package here is just that - a package of image and source files. Running Ubuntu here

Sorry... no animation in this release. EnjoyDiary wanted still emoticons, and with the current state of open source vector art tools, animating them would have taken a good deal of effort and probably a switch to Blender (which would not be great, because I work best in WYSIWYG). A ways down on Inkscape's roadmap they plan animation support, which I will certainly take a look at when they get there. So no, no animated ones this time, but I'll be thinking about how to best make that happen in the future.
