Description
For Pentalis, featuring Nessic.They were looking for something rather close in idea and design to the sketch, so I refined a lot of details, but didn't change them much. I'm really proud with how this turned out, and things like a bit of criticism and feedback from friends was a key part of the process.

A female who shows off her body is displaying fertility. A male who does that is either a bird showing off plumage proving he's male and has energy to spare to grow those feathers, or he's a vain narcissist.

A drawing model is an actual job (for men and women)! And it has no relation with narcissism. Actually one doesn't even need to have a "perfect body" as the idea is helping people to learn anatomy and draw any kind of bodies~

True, but there's a good reason such a job is very strongly associated with women. It's that physical beauty is more important to a woman than it is for a man, for reasons I already explained.

There's not doubt we have different opinions about this!
But, as I meant, what about people who wants to practice male anatomy?
Some people find more interesting male shapes for many reasons and look for models like this. For example, it is easier to me to draw these kind of bodies than the female's because of style issues. Thus, what about that "shonen" Japanese styles and series? (like Dragon Ball or JoJo's, lol)
Also, nowadays many men actually do care about their appearance; I'm sure that the definition of beauty depends on each person and it is not a concrete definition.

They can do so in a technical manner, without appearing vain or narcissistic. Anime people have issues which I don't have time to go into, and those men are ruined by society. I think calling them "dandies" might be the polite way of saying it. This picture has a dandy dragon. I know that's not the most philosophical way to put it, but I'm typing this on my phone while on the go, so I don't have much time to give a response here atm.

Well, I read this whole thing so I guess Iβll just put in my two cents.
An action rarely displays the reason behind it. To assume a male is posing because heβs a vain narcissist is just a conceited as assuming a woman is posing to display fertility. Itβs impossible to know without context.
That being said, the art in question is of a posing dragon - and if one were to assume that he is a typical dragon (which he may or may not be) - OF COURSE heβs a vain narcissist! Lol.
