Description
Finished!I think most of you will see which one is the king.
I posted a WIP for this a while back, and I've been making changes to it since then. I decided to use the dragon, but add some more symmetric foreground elements, so the piece as a whole doesn't look off balance. I think the final composition turned out well. The converging lines in the background were especially fun to work with. Warm color schemes are addictive, too.
This piece was quite a lot of work.
I always want to make each piece of art I make better than my last ones, and one way I go about that is by putting some more time into the details.
This one went through several different revisions, but after spending so long on this picture, I think I'm in the mood for some quicker pieces next. This one had over 100 layers.
That may not be the pinnacle of efficiency, but at I am proud of the final result, so the time spent was worthwhile, in my opinion.
Enjoy the art!
Comments and criticism are always welcome, too.

Thank you very much.
It's an honor to hear that this is your first critique, as well.
Thank you for pointing that out about the thumbs. I knew there was something bothering me with the wings, but for some reason couldn't put my finger on it. I think you found the problem.
I'll do my best to improve on that area, in the future, and if it looks like something I can do quick enough, I may make a modification to this one. I'll have to take another look through my layers.

This piece is again a masterwork by the Color Wizard. The sort of fisheye-lens bend given to the perspective really encapsukates the scope and helps to convey themes of power, authority and perhaps a bit of opressiveness and tyranny. The dragon here acts well as the power behind the throne, the oligarch of influential persons, corporations and other appointees serving the dwarfed head-of-state, who in reality has much less of the power. This eternal conflict of politics is exemplified perfectly when you consider the range of gold colours used, which is both a colour associated with wealth and luxury as well as fire and power. The dragon embodies the idolization of power that the monarch posesses, rather than the power that he actually wields. It could also be that instead of being the monarch's personal dragon, that the king is the dragon's personal monarch, speaking for it to the people who live in what appears a harsh, dusty clime, which would certainly be a very interesting take on the piece and a brilliant way to look at it.
While Chromamancer's work is impressive both from a visual and artistic perspective, some less impressive aspects which hold this piece back from being perfect must be mentioned for the sake of betterment. Many of Chromamancer's works, while toying with colour ranges, typically do lack colour contrast, and that can be seen here. Although an attempt was made with the inclusion of the steel and silver fashionings, as well as the bright reds which dot the "throne room", these seem to be added on more as an afterthought, partly due to their lack of shadows (speaking in particular about the dragon) and also due to the fact that they are so bright. While green and purple would most likely have not worked here, and adding any colour to the dragon's scales would have taken away from the effect, it would have been nice to see some counterbalance to the strong sense opression that comes from the piece, a light of hope to guide us through the opression, perhaps in the form of stained-glass reliefs in those arches, or a white sun — but then, I am probably missing the point.
Despite all of that, though, this is still excellent work, and Chromamancer deserves every piece of praise he will surely get for it. I'm very glad I saw it.

Can you make an another pic about this one. (A different pose of the dragon king and the human king.) Make the same Jewelry for the dragon king but golden and empty the treasure. Please do that. (Sorry because of my English if I made any mistakes.) I will be so pleased if you do that.

Time well spent. The dragon is magnificent. I can see all the detail you put into his scales. The jewelry is interesting, even on his tail and horns. He looks rather happy with himself.

I would be truly honored if you would allow me to use this pic in a Dragon's secret lives montage video. If you would say yes I will compensate by putting your name, screen or real if you prefer, on the pic along with the credits, and the description with a link to your DA page next to it.

Love this work, I can definitely get a feel for the perspective.
I feel like this is a scene out of a high-end animated movie
One Hundred is a lot of layers, I'm surprised Oekaki didn't freeze out on you. Beautiful, one of my favourites, I should definitely, spend as much as time as you did on your pictures, I just get so pissed off, I don't want to look at my pictures after the 4 hour mark.
Anyways, enough of my rambling, you have greatly improved !!

It was a fun perspective to draw from. Upward angles like this are more difficult to visualize sometimes, but they can make things stand out nicely, I think.
