I don't get all the hate for Flash Sentry (and yes, that is him, just in gray scale). Since I'm fairly new to the fandom, am I missing something? All he did was dance with and bump into Twilight in a non-canon movie, but eh. This fandom works in mysterious ways, I've observed.
And yes, this was inspired by Paperman. I can no longer count the times I've watched that short.

I'm new to the fandom and don't understand the hatred either, don't hate the character, if they have to say anything on the subject complain about why he was made like that to the writers and and/or artists.

People hate flash x twi because
1. they want their OC with her
2. There has never been teenage love or anything like that on mlp and it makes them think of gen 3 with the leg warmers
3. people think that twilight deserves better
4. they want fit in

I really adore those two together. I don't understand all the hate out there either. They really are a cute couple. This is really well drawn and so cute! I love Paperman so it's always fun to see on my favorite couples together in a picture. Here's hoping he's in season 4 I truly want him as well.

I like to think that most of the fandom either likes him or is indifferent, from what i've seen since Flash first appeared, it was only some of the more vocal fans that spewed bloody-murder for him, personally he's one of my favorite male characters since he had roughly the same amount of screen time and dialogue in the movie as a lot of the side characters do in the show.

DAH! FEELS! (Huge FlashLight shipper) And it's inspired by Paperman! I LOVED that short! How fast time flies. It feels like yesterday that I watched it along with Wreck-It Ralph in theaters. It also feels like yesterday that I watched Equestia Girls in theaters as well with my sis. Now I'm looking at this and my feels are bursting from my chest! Nicely done!

I think most people in the fandom don't like him because his character only exists to give Twilight a love interest in the film, which is something that the show went out of it's way to avoid. Although other people might be upset because he threatened their Twilight OTPs with other characters. Another reason is that his character is incredibly bland (at least his human counterpart is, but then so is pretty much everyone else's) 
While I myself don't care for his human version (because of how boring he was) I have a biiiiiiig soft spot for his pony version, mostly because of my weakness for soldier characters and how it's easier to imagine him basically having a whole different character dynamic in Equestria. And hey, what's the fun in shipping if you only support a character in one ship? Multiple ships with the same character are way more fun and offer a lot more variety!

Fantastic, this is digital, correct? I've done gray scaling (to a point/ extreme shading with no color) hand drawing and I know how difficult it is, and this is amazing piece.
