...for the train (and season 4, too!).
I don't get all the hate for Flash Sentry (and yes, that is him, just in gray scale). Since I'm fairly new to the fandom, am I missing something? All he did was dance with and bump into Twilight in a non-canon movie, but eh. This fandom works in mysterious ways, I've observed.
And yes, this was inspired by Paperman. I can no longer count the times I've watched that short.

I totally agree with you. People shouldn't complain about changes in the show and in Equestria Girls. I approve all of the following : Alicorn Twilight, Flash Sentry and Equestria Girls in general.
Also very nice drawing! brought me here and as this is your first deviation, I welcome you in the wonderful world of deviantArt! I'm pretty sure your drawings will be popular here.

I've been a fan for a little over a year, and personally I didn't see a problem with it, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I just think that some people should take things like that less seriously. Then again, I'm a fan of this pairing so I never understood the problem to begin with.

This is beautiful. Really. Everything about it is just so pretty. The expressions on their faces, the shadows, the highlights...this is just so gorgeous. Faved and watched.

I don't hate Flash Sentry. He just seems so last minute. He didn't have plot significance. I mean, if he did, or had any character or ANYTHING, I'd be okay with him. But instead he just showed up, acted awkward, and then didn't do anything to the plot accept for the time he randomly found the cropped pictures OH SO CONVENIENTLY.
He was a giant deus ex machina for one moment and then at any other time, he just pointlessly existed with no reguard or meaning to the plot. The movie literally would have not changed if his character didn't exist. His reason to exist wasn't made apperent.
Now, if they did ANYTHING with him, made him useful to the plot or made his own plot arc that made sense, it would be fine. But as Equestira Girls is, he was a pointless character.

Agreeing with wasabi-beans above. He's just so aggressively bland, like the lead singer from a 90s boy band that's so synthetic you can smell the fresh monomer from its plastic.

I like the way you've done the shading, and the highlight in Twilight's hair. It seems to convey depth well.

well... since you wanted an answer...
He was never part of the show until Equestria Girls, and frankly, the movie barely did anything with him, he just seemed shoehorned in, both the human and pony form, why have him there when he's not going to be significant?
Then there's the idea that Twilight, of all ponies, getting a boyfriend. In a little girl's show (let's not kid ourselves, it's still a little girl's show).
Honestly, she's already having a huge status quo change, being winged now, so adding the boyfriend factor just seems like pandering to the execs, who want to appeal to a preteen's tastes, who're starting to learn about boys, in a friendship-centric show?
He played a cute little guitar solo in the 'Help Twilight Win the Crown' song, I guess...

Agreed. That's why it's not canon
>Then there's the idea that Twilight, of all ponies, getting a boyfriend.
Characters change. It's a necessary part of stories. Who wants characters that never do anything different?
>In a little girl's show (let's not kid ourselves, it's still a little girl's show).
What does that have to do with twilight getting a boyfriend? Are you telling me that little girls don't want the princess to find prince charming? Furthermore, the show totally isn't designed to be watched by parents or anything like that.
>Honestly, she's already having a huge status quo change, being winged now, so adding the boyfriend factor just seems like pandering to the execs, who want to appeal to a preteen's tastes, who're starting to learn about boys, in a friendship-centric show?
(See second and third points)

(See first point)
