Description
Sorry for the quickness of this one, I just needed a break from drawing humans for a bit as they're really not my forte :,,)Related content

Hello, I am from .
I like the way the scene is rendered, and both your subjects and your composition are terrific. The background really sells the illusion that we see the scene from the top of the sky and are looking down toward the ground, which is so far below that it cannot be seen. The clouds and the space between the clouds suggest a spiral tumbling downwards, making it look like the viewer is in danger of falling, but the animals in theΒ picture can soar on the air currents. The birds look like Archaeopteryx, though I know that you are taking artistic license and are calling them dragons. It is unusual and unique to depict dragons as more avian than reptilian, though I suppose this is logical because dinosaurs have already undergone such a transformation in palaeological art. In any case, the birds look very active and appear as though they were alive. I admire your skill in creating such realistic movements on the page.
May I also write about the way you play with light? The only separation of the clouds and the ground below is that one is light and the other in shadow. No lines demarcate one from the other, yet they flow together nicely. The clouds float on the atmosphere like how whipped cream floats on coffee, and the wind currents are indicated just by sweeping a streak of white in the desired direction, which is particularly notable along the rim.
Overall, I love how easily you produced the illusion of great height and depth, and I would like to see more pieces on this subject.

Reading this really made my day!! The way you described the portions of the piece you are referencing were absolutely beautiful and I'm so happy my efforts came off successfully!
I have always loved the idea of dragons being more bird-like than reptilian since I was a kid so that ideology transferred haha
Thank you again for the wonderful review and comment, I really appreciate your thoughts! <3Β

This is so nice! I love the wings and how the background is so lovely but doesn't overpower the foreground!

I'm glad you think so! I was worried that the shading would be overwhelming and I might actually go back over this at some point and fix some shading things <3

It contrasts well with the simpler shading and gradients that are used for the birds so it wasn't so overwhelming. Awesome good luck!
