Description
This is a commission a did a few years back while I was smack in the middle of a Deathblow series with Mr. Azzarello.... this was originally an ink-wash piece with no background, but it'd hard to 'dust off' old pieces and not be tempted to retouch 'em a bit with good ol' Photoshop
... although, sometimes out of necessity, since ink-wash pieces and 'greypaper' pieces can scan like crap sometimes!

it's actually a character called Deathblow, which Marcus Fenix was based on!

I love the shading, it really shows the 3d and the volumes, especialy on the muscles. anatomy is perfect too!

hehehe, I've read that a few times on this post, ironically, it's the other way around... Marcus Fenix I am sure was influenced by Deathblow, since the Deathblow series came out ten years or so before GoW.

From the tiny thumbnail I thought this was a wicked piece of Gears of War fanart haha. Not familiar with the actual character, but this is still a really fantastic piece of work. Great job!

this one is just an old fashioned ink-wash... just watered-down ink for the grey tones, then much much later, I threw in some Photoshop color grads for separation!
