there are some really good books out there on the subject, and then mix that with lots and lots of studying 'live anatomy' from magazines, movies (MMA fights are great for that too), etc etc.

you can never go wrong with Bridgeman... also, if you can, find ANYTHING done by Andrew Loomis... most of his stuff is out of print, but you can buy 'em used on AMAZON or Ebay.

I love this, especially the Spidey. My pet peeve is when artists draw Spidey too thick with muscle. I think the character should be built more like Bruce Lee than Muhammad Ali and you nailed it!

-although,compositionatory seen , spidey gets a bit lost in the grey...well, still great art nevertheless!

I can't get over how awesome you are at drawing muscles

SamGreenArt [2009-12-09 13:06:57 +0000 UTC]
These are probably two characters I find hardest to draw whilst giving the character justice.
Spidey is, Lets face is, A bit boring looking, and hes an acrobatic guy as it is - So he can't be drawn without an 'exciting' pose - which is his main setback in terms of difficaulty. Its hard being able to create several accurate and varied poses and postures for him.
The main problem I have with Hulk is fitting him on the A4 paper I have to work with! haha - But it can be difficault to capture his rage and destructive force on just one sheet.
I must say you've done a great job with the characters and you have succeeded in the things i find hard.
However one thing I must point out is Hulks back muscles are a teeny tiny bit lopsided, towards his right - Although thats hardley noticable and doesnt hinder the image at all.
Fantastic work as always
