marsuuuu. HOUBA! remember him? i loved watching his cartoon ... i think they showed it in some disney show (gahhh i cant remember the name, it was half an hour long and they'd show stuff like marsupilami / goof troop / bonkers (i think) and stuff within that half hour... *goes nuts trying to remember*)anyway, saw him on tv at james' place the other day and it brought back memories. just had do doooodle him. heheh.

I used to see him on TV as well. I remember seeing him on Disney's Raw Toonage. He is my favorite Disney character. I love how he speak like a human (He does not only says HOUBA!) And I loved his gorilla friend, Maurice. Marsupilami is my favorite Disney character. I used to see Raw Toonage on NBC-TV.

I got a comic in France about this character called 'Marsupilami', i think that might be where it started.

Actually, Marsupilami first appeared in French-Belgian "open-source" comic, Spirou et Fantasio by Franquin at that time (an author of Gaston!). After the series passed on the next author, Marsupilami were discarded from the series, and started to have their own comic series and cartoons

This particular one is from the comic "Spirou". Name may differ in English, but the original created by Tome and Janry was named Spirou.

OMG! *was browsing through fanart and saw this* I loved him so much when I was a kid! He looks adoreable how you've drawn him sitting there, and I really like how you've got his tail squiggling about in the background. The sketchy feel is neat too, as is the shading on his spots. Seriously, this made my day

I used to read ALL the comics where he was involved.. I'm a hardcore Franquin fan (the creator of the Marsupilami) and the last thing I need now is a Zorglumobile to add to my memorabilia

Marsupilami is one of the most versitile characters I've seen. He can do so much with his very long tail. He's a big favourite of mine. I even have a couple plushies of him and have uploaded pictures to my gallery here. Just do a search or click on the [link] I've seen both the Disney and European versions of the cartoon. Both are very different. I'm more used to watching the Disney version so it was very different watching the European version.

Marsupilami RULES.
At least in the comics, especially the old Spirou ones. There were two shows, as I remember. One was pretty good (it portrayed him like in the comics - a jungle animal) and the other was some Tom & Jerry like cartoon which had (besides the design of the Marsupilami itself and Bring M. Backalive) no resemblance to the comics whatsoever...
