Description Meh...I actually like the sketched version better still. Something bugs me about Raven's eyes, and her eyelashes aren't as soft as they seemed to be before. Ironically enough, Robin came out unscathed while Raven was quite a pain in the...you get the picture.

Inked with my brand new pen a few weeks ago, and then "fixed" up a bit with Photoshop. Still have lots of work to do on this one, but between papers, finals, and work, I'm quite literally swamped.

...I might update this with a better picture later, but I hope this works for now.

I love it! well except for the fact that robin doesn't really have any neck, but still i couldn't do as well in drawing something like that!

He's kinda supposed to be leaning forward, so it's reeeeally hard to tell from this viewpoint. I think I just need to work on that a little.

Thank you very much for the compliment though.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*fangirl squel* Eeeekkkk.....Robin looks like he is so over protective over Raven like lets just say Slade comes and all,Robin would do anything to keep Raven safe.....
Not a flame or anything, but Robin's head looks alittle too fat and his mask is tiny.Who am I to say that, you are WAY better than me...

Robin's hair is so shiny........He must have put alot of gel...

Awesome....I wish I could say something better,but I don't know my vocabluary(sp?) very well.....

I'm happy you like it. I was going for Robin in his "I'll protect you" mode, and this little piccie came together a lot easier than I thought it would be. Robin totally intimidated me simply because I had no experience drawing him...and the sketch of this is still 10 times better in my opinion. His head is a little funny for one of two reasons, I suppose. One, I drew him at an angle, or I meant to draw him at one where he was kinda leaning forward and looking up. It didn't turn out like I wanted to, but it was good enough at the moment. Also, I have a bad habit of drawing rounded heads on my characters... Bad habit, no more, no less... The mask? ...I don't know, really.

Oh, and you're not flaming me. Don't worry about that. Compliments are great, but telling us how to make our pictures better is the real purpose of comments.

Robin does have a lot of gel, doesn't he? He could stab someone with that hairdo...

Thank you for the wonderful comment!

You flatter me waaaaay too much. It's nice to know that you love it.

Inking is usually one of those things that I don't take very lightly...many times I've tried to ink something and then... Oops. I've added a blotch where her nose should be. At which then I'd proceed to pull my hair out and curse the very tool I'd proclaimed my love for mere minutes beforehand.

I use a ridiculously small-tipped pen. It's a lot easier than using five pens for one pic, because I can outline and then fill in the larger strokes... Small details can be done, but one shake of the wrist can pretty much guarantee you with a nifty little spot...right where it shouldn't be.

Such wonderful comments. Much love. ...And you uploaded another page of the comic! I need to go comment on that right away!

First comment! W00t!!

Luuurve. X3 I really really like Raven's hand. And the only thing I could think that you might want to about her eyes is make her eyelashes a little more dramatic, you know, longer/girlier. I love the expressions on both their faces. Raven's, to me, is wonderful. She's got that whole beaten look. She's a tough woman, and it'd take a lot to get her to go to somebody for comfort. Her expression conveys that feeling very well here.

I'm in <3 with your hairshine skillz.

And to add a tempering critique to the gushing praise : their heads are perhaps a bit too round, sort of ballon like, with hair just kind of loosely attached on top. Facial definition is somehing to work on, but you're not at all doing bad here. I've seen much, much worse. And a lot of it was mine.

Also , their arms are a bit rubbery looking, Raven's elbow particularly. It's mostly because of the rounded shape.

But still, over all, an awesome pic, and your inking is sharp and clean and defined! So jealous! *can't ink to save her soul*

*glomps* Totally faving.

Holy-! I didn't mean to ramble on about it that much!

...Many apologies...

Rambling? What rambling? o.o Where?

And no need to apologise. X3 I unashamedly use Artist's Comments space to monologue in my own pictures, I couldn't possibly blame you for slight verbiage.

(Sigh...No really, insert HUGE sigh here) Wow, there goes the week from Hell...and now that it's over I can finally respond to your ultra-wonderful comment.

Much love from me to you. Just reading your comment made my day when I got it. I wasn't feeling too confident about the inked version in the least. Raven's eyes were softer and more delicate before I seemingly defiled it with my ink pen, but I could definitely find some way to get those eyelashes cranked out. (Sheer determination!)

Thanks for the compliment on the hand. They were being difficult in respect to the fact that I ultimately decided to give her fingernails. She has none in the sketch, but I told myself to actually put that little detail in and nearly wrecked the entire piece. Goodness...as for the expressions, I just had two things in mind: Robin, all determined like, and Raven, sad, but not weepy.

Raven is a strong character, amazingly so, and I didn't want to ruin her with this picture. I know that she doesn't normally cling to anyone...repeat, ANYONE. ...On the other hand, we all need someone...or at least need to know that someone cares. It can all become too much to bear at once, therefore Robin is there to comfort a world-weary Raven.

...Skills? Hah, hairshine is such a pain... I randomly scribbled lines in Robin's hair only to stumble onto a screenshot later. I was a bit irritated to say the least, but screenshots are a pretty reliable source for reference. I'm using them for the colors on this picture actually. ...But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to take artistic liberties with it...

Eeek... That's a rather bad habit of mine, I'm afraid. Most of the figures I draw seem to have a rounded face. I don't even know why, really. I tried a new angle and unfortunately I don't have enough experience...but I'll try to streamline their faces in the future. (I'm afraid that any type of manual manipulation would ruin the rest of it...) Raven's hair is horrendously flat though. I'll try to lighten that up a bit... (Mumbles curses about the way the show draws her) Robin's forehead also looks a tad too big for him...no matter the size of that ego of his.

Ack! So you see it too! After erasing the outline of Raven's arm I noticed that too. It's way too round... I'll either get rid of that or shape it around a bit... Yet another bad habit...

I owe my "inking skills" to an extremely small-tipped inking pen. I love those things. I outlined the thicker lines, filling those in while I traced the smaller lines. It allows for a lot of variety, but you have to be uber careful with it! My hands can be shaky so it gets annoying very easily, but you have to be absolutely steady or something's going to get blotted...

Thanks so much for the praise! I'm sorry that it took me so long to respond, but two papers can be an absolute killer. I'm pretty sure that I look like death warmed over, but guess who's still going to stay out until 11:00 PM on a Friday night? (Raises hand) Damn straight. (Clears throat) ...Anyway, I'm really happy that you liked it. I promise to try and get this colored as quickly as possible, but finals start next week, and I want to make sure that this turns out at least half-way decent.

Toodles. ...And thanks for the fave. Don't mind my ultra-long response too much. Emotional build up and overload.
