Think the important thing is to keep a finger on the button while they are moving and to time their movements so when they stop.. snap... keeping the shutter speed at a reasonable speed is also important so u have to balance the aperture and shutter speeds for the pictures you want to take...

Wow, thats what I call a macro
I also wonder how you do to make them look so clear, I mean, those ants were probably moving quite fast, but yet the image is clear and the focus perfect.
What's the name of your camera again?

Proper focus, clean lens... and most importantly, small aperture setting (f8 and above)... always use a tripod...
