*It takes a long while but finally the door opens. Instead of Zenith though, it's Carlus. The young cicada looks tired and worried, he reaches up and rubs his eye setting his small glasses askew.*
...Oh, hi Miss Moss. Are you here for Mr. Cadell? If you are sorry, but he can't see anyone right now...

Following the distinct scent of a familiar rabbit villager, the massive leech lumbered along solely by his senses. Upon slinking closer, he noticed a more delectable scent mingled with it. Another? Ignoring the more favorable choice, he had his fill beforehand. The entity wanted to focus his concentration on what he yearned for, while he still had it, at least.
Vayne: "Zenith."
The extraterrestrial growled it loudly opposed to the usual, crude nickname of 'easy prey' he stuck onto the considerably unlucky rabbit. It sounded strange, seeing as moments later, the alien had finally gained knowledge of Zenith's name. Not that he had cared much to inquire something as meaningless to a being of game. His weighty tail had thumped behind him decisively. ...Or was he even considered 'food' at this point? He wasn't particularly delicious and he bore valuable information... he wasn't his own species' brethren... nor was he an enemy.
A deep, confused string of clicks rumbled in the pit of his throat as he slunk closer to the outside of the villager's estate. His massive, damp body was cloaked in the surrounding undergrowth and forest green foliage but glowing, fluorescent gills gave away his location easily in the generous shade. It had to have been intentional, seeing as he felt no means of harming Zenith by now. ...Friendliness...?

*Zenith sat on one of the benches near the pond in his large garden of a backyard, staring over Carlus' shoulder at the phone in the cicada's first set of hands, listening to him excitedly talk about how he was going to get a mask from Yin and everything about what it will look like. He had been reading over the online chat since Carlus hopped online and was feeling a little concerned about the cicada not only talking to Swatt, but also with someone who's username was [vayne]. Now he wouldn't have thought much about it if what this [vayne] character hadn't sounded so horribly familiar, and he was now certain that they were the alien that had stalked him several times before. He wasn't as scared of the alien as he much as he once was, but the leech still worried him and, if given the chance, would go out of his way to warn people about it. He may be off the menu, but other people weren't. That's why he didn't let Carlus go swimming in the lake and river, he didn't want the creature to see the young cicada as a quick snack. This also worried him about taking Carlus fishing Friday, he had been going to Lavender Lake to fish a lot this summer and had not encountered the alien but did he want to risk it with taking Carlus?
Turning his gaze from the phone screen to the cicadas beaming face, he smiled. Carlus was so excited to go fishing for the first time, it would be terrible to disappoint him by suddenly not talking the cicada with him. He wouldn't change their plans. It would be fine.*

Making a considerable amount of noise while slinking through the brush- stealth was the least of the abnormally sized leech's priorities. Feeble twigs and thick branches snapped past him with barely any pressure applied and the glossy leaves rustled as he gradually grew closer and closer to the back of a strange manmade seating. The two apparent scents mingled as clear as day but the more acquainted one stuck out.
Vayne: "Zenith."
He hissed louder, repeating his call, practically behind the pair at a step's length.

*Zenith shot into the air at the familiar voice, pulling Carlus off the bench and behind him and he faced the alien. What was the creature doing here? At his home? He would have been a little more welcoming if it was just him but Carlus was here too and he didn't want the leech to get any ideas. Carlus wriggled behind him, getting out of his grasp just enough to stare behind Zenith at the intruder.*
I-it's Vayne right? What are you doing here?
*Instead of showing any fear, though the cicada was worried with how Zenith was acting, Carlus simply smiled and waved a hand at the alien from behind Zenith.*
Hi!

Casually ignoring the question asked, not out of intended rudeness but rather social ineptness, the alien stalked over with an unreadable expression towards the pair. He observed the cicada's cheerful motions before glancing at Zenith's disposition towards the smaller creature. Unprompted out of the blue, he gave the nervous rabbit an amiable, soft headbutt against the forehead with a low-pitched, strange-sounding chirrup. A greeting? Whatever the case, he turned his fickle attention back to the new insectoid with subconscious drool at the whiff of a potential meal but consciously kept his expression blank.
Vayne: "...Hello."
Was Zenith planning on eating that insect himself? He appeared quite defensive over it. Returning his eyeless gaze back to the acquainted villager, he didn't completely ignore the prior questions asked, apparently.
Vayne: "My name is 'Vayne' and yours is Zenith. I recall my hive mother giving me that name."
Vayne: "...................I felt like seeking you out. Nothing more of it."
He flatly stated, revealing that the alien had only visited Zenith on a whim.

*Before Zenith could respond, he felt Carlus tugging on his vest and looked down.*
Is this the alien you were telling me about? The reason I can't go in the lake or river. *The cicada loudly whisper asked*
Yes, which is why you need to stay behind me.
*Zenith almost hissed back before turning to Vayne. He didn't care whether the alien left or stayed as long as it knew Carlus was off the menu.*
Ok, listen Vayne, I'm fine with you stopping by, but we need to get something strait first. Carlus isn't food, ok? He's a kid I'm talking care of, and I would kind of like him alive. If you're hungry I'm sure I have something else in my kitchen or pond that you can eat instead.

Blatantly eavesdropping into their brief conversation, Vayne tilted his head. By this indication, were most of the locals avoiding the freshwater bodies because of him? He attentively watched them both in the quick exchange before snapping his attention back to Zenith. Blanks of unknown words dotted the last string of sentences... kid, kitchen... neither of which sounded familiar. What he was aware of, however, was that Zenith favored the smaller insect's survival and held some importance to him... rather than a snack. The alien hesitated for a moment, possibly mulling over whether to or not, before headbutting Carlus against the forehead, albeit softer and far more cautious than previously. This time around, the otherworldly chirrup was far more subdued, controlled, and quieter in comparison to the interaction he had with Zenith.
Carlus meant something to the rabbit and whether it was wired as to how the extraterrestrial reacted or not, respect carried with what Zenith had valued.

*Zenith turned as pale as a ghost and looked like he died inside as Vayne leaned down and headbutted Carlus. Jolting his body slightly at the returned cultural greeting, Vayne certainly wasn't expecting Carlus to respond akin to how he had. The sleek alien respectfully acknowledged Carlus, as surprising as it was with such a savage life form he's presented himself to be in the past.

Lumbering a fair distance away from the bandaged rabbit, Vayne had yet again caught the familiar scent of Zenith- along with a rather acute, unrecognizable tinge of something odd. The being subconsciously drooled at the thought of having a taste of whatever this substance may be in spite of the supposed awful flavour the villager had. A satisfied, rumbling click escaped from the pit of his throat as he closed in closer upon Zenith... possibly promising himself to such a treat.
He eventually piped up, taking a moment to catch the hare in his tracks.
Vayne: "...You smell different, easy prey."
Noticing upon closer inspection of his injured eye, the slick alien leaned in rather uncomfortably close, mere inches away from the tended area with curiosity. A deep guttural growl rumbled as he detected it further, mentally attempting to deem in his brain whether it was akin to iron or not.
Vayne: "You can't regenerate? Sad."

*At the sudden voice of the alien Zenith spun around so fast his head hurt. How long had it been following him? How hadn't he heard it? This lack of sleep and constant cloudy mind was really affecting him. If the giant leech who seemed to have some strange fascination with him was able to follow him so easily without him noticing then he might have to confine himself to his house until whatever was wrong with him passes. If it passes...
The aliens words didn't register to Zenith, and he didn't even flitch as it bent down near him. He could only give a small whimper at his terrible luck.*
Please... Don't... I can't...
*His words broke off, tears starting to fall from his uncovered eye. It wasn't necessary the aliens fault, its presence simply broke the dam that had been holding all of Zenith's pains, worries, and fears back. He couldn't stop them as they flooded forward, instead his mind gave way becoming consumed by the horrible thoughts. Why this, why now? Zenith was never one to cry in public and to break down in front of this creature that would care made it all the worse.*

Vayne: "...Why are you...?"
He gave a slight tilt of his head, recalling the alike instance some whimpering prey had done the same... back in the vivid memories of a spacecraft. 'Crying'. He gave no helpful, emotional response to the defeated rabbit's breakdown surfacing, observing as to what this emotion actually meant instead. He remained silent for quite sometime as the extraterrestrial registered him sniveling away and without any prompt, laid down next to him with a muffled thump. He had oddly remained in a calmer state this chance around- but there was no telling when exactly that ticking time bomb would explode.
Vayne: ".............You smell of salt."

*Zenith sniffled rubbing his eyes. He didn't want to cry in front of this thing, or anyone for that matter. Still, even in his half fogged mind he found it interesting that the alien hadn't attacked him and instead had sat down near him. It seemed calmer today. Trying to calm himself down he latched onto what the creature had said. Salt, he knew that, he knew why that was. He loved sharing his vast amount of knowledge, and to focus instead on that than his fear fueled thoughts would be much better.*
That's because I'm crying. Tears are made of water and salt, because of the high concentrations of those two substances in the body. It's all really interesting, though I'm not sure you can cry, you don't seem to have any eyes.

He growled, wrinkling his snout at the lingering scent. It reminded him of his first unwilling plunge into the unforgiving ocean, among other unlucky memories. His heavy, snaking tail irately thumped behind him as he accessed those sensitive moments.
Vayne: "...Is it a defense mechanism?"
Vayne pried, as much as these 'tears' bothered him- he wanted to understand more. It was in his nature to.

*Zenith couldn't help but chuckle at that, and actually moved to sit down with the alien.*
No, but they do have other purposes, and they're actually several different types of tears. Basal tears are constant tears that keep the eye from drying out, reflex tears protect the eye from things like dust or smoke and then there's emotional tears, which is what I was just doing. Most people cry emotional tears when they're sad but they can also happen when your happy. Its also agreed upon that having a good long cry can help you feel better.

Listening to Zenith's explanation, he remained silent once more as his intuition pieced and snapped it together. With a slight furrow in his temples, he let out content sigh at the desired reasoning met. Perhaps it would be a lost, using this rabbit as a means of hunting entertainment, rather than a knowledgeable source to inquire.
Vayne: "...You know so much.
Vayne admitted, sounding of admiration in way.
A moment passed before the leech-like being rose his head, focusing his eyeless gaze on the now apparent, different scent overpowering the saltine one- directly at Zenith's injury... and with that, he began to unconsciously drool once more.
Vayne: "Tell me... what is that substance from your damaged eye? It isn't blood, I'm certain."

*Zenith subconsciously reached up and touched the bandaged covering his eye. Feeling that it was slightly moist he winced. Was it "bleeding" again? But it hadn't since he had first got it. Then again this wasn't an ordinary wound, and that wasn't blood it was oozing, so he didn't entirely know how it worked.*

The alien tilted his head out of slight confusion with Zenith's sentences.
Vayne: "It's making you feel terrible, isn't it?"
Vayne: "...Since you can't regenerate yourself, I'll just rid of the pain for you."
He grinned rather menacingly, his sharp teeth revealing themselves in rows. However, his eyeless focus said otherwise as he was more or less pinpointed on the possible ichor substitute instead... not so much the desire to toss the frail rabbit around like before, especially after what more he's learned from him. Vayne's tail quietly thumped behind him unconsciously as a low, rumbling hiss exhaled from his bared maw.

*Zenith furrowed his brow, complimenting whether he should allow the alien to do as it pleased or not. He was desperate to find an quick cure for his wound, and if the creature really could heal it then he shouldn't pass up the chance. If it did work he could forgive how unsanitary and gross being licked by a giant leech was. The thing that worried him though, was that the alien would do more than just lick him. It seemed calmer today but he still remembered this thing's razor sharp teeth inches from his throat and pricking at his waist, just a little bit of pressure to tear easily into his skin.*
. . .
*Slowly Zenith reached up and started unwrapping the bandages, revealing his pitch black eye and the inky ooze leaking from it. Placing the bandage aside he turned to the alien. Surprisingly, he could still see out of the wounded eye, though it was a little weird. There were several cuts through the eye, which will most likely scar, if this doesn't work that is.*

Vayne: "Nothing else..."
He echoed Zenith's specifics.
An elongated, slime soaked tongue lolled out from the creature's carnivorous maw as if on command. It was distinctively ridged underneath with a squishy exterior and looked like something that belonged to an otherworldly being out of a sci-fi horror film. Strands and beads of saliva oozed from his teeth as Vayne broke out into an almost bloodthirsty, wide grin. The being readied himself with a satisfied, guttural growl.
He gave a couple slow swipes over Zenith's injured area, lapping it up successfully of any running void-like fluid. As a result, the massive leech had messily dampened a good part of the rabbit's soft profile and his once pristine white fur, however the couple ocular abrasions that have left a physical injury were gradually mending themselves from said alien's slime rather unnaturally quick. With a last few licks of the smaller framed animal for any traces of the odd substance, Vayne eventually backed off as there wasn't anything left to swallow up.
Pleasantly surprised, Vayne let out a content, audible rumble. Whatever that liquid excess was, it was just about as good as the crimson ichor he craved... despite its peculiar, unfamiliar aftertaste.
Vayne: "...!!!"
The sleek extraterrestrial softly headbutted Zenith's side without warning, more out of happiness that his suspicions about the substance were correct.

Reacting to the accidental contact of Zenith's hand, Vayne nudged against it eagerly without hesitation. Another deep trill of happiness escaped him and the slug-like being inched closer to receive more of whatever pleasant feeling it was that he discovered.
As soon as his hand was removed, however, the alien stared intently at Zenith without a word. Not even a response or answer to the conversation prior, he was definitely yearning to be touched again. Vayne then roughly nudged the rabbit's hand again with his slippery snout, letting out a low grumble.

*Zenith drew his hand back quickly in surprise. He was so used to the alien attacking him that he didn't entirely know how to react to this completely different behavior. He kept thinking it was going to attack him but instead it seemed pleased? content?, something that wasn't entirely out of control and wild. What surprised him even more was that instead of biting his hand off for the accidental touch the creature seemed to actually have enjoyed it. Should he do it again? It sure seemed to want him too. He stared at the aliens slimy head and shrugged, he was already messy enough, what was a little more. He reached out and once again, this time on purpose, touched the giant leeches head. He held still for a bit, seeing what the creature did, before moving his hand in a petting motion. What was he getting himself into?*

As soon as Zenith returned his hand and began petting once more- the being gave another content, continuous purr.
He had lain near perfectly still, practically docile in a sense as the two-toned rabbit had pretty much tamed the monster via attention.
Once the leech-like alien had finally gotten all he's wanted, Vayne abruptly pulled away from the desired pats, slowly rising up and wandering off elsewhere with heavy, slow footsteps. Moments later, a subdued splash could be heard a ways off. What a strange encounter...

*Zenith read over the list of questions and handed the notebook back to Avyanna.*
You're certainty planning something, aren't you. Let's see, my favorite color is neon purple. I like most purples, but neon is my favorite. I love anything sweet, but I really enjoy jelly-filled doughnuts. For accessory, hmm, lets see... Cufflinks or tie tacks. That's as close to jewelry as I get. I really like scarfs too. As for book, dear I don't can't choose a favorite book, and all my top favorites I own. You should see my library, it's huge!
I hope that helps with what ever your doing. Anything else?

Not at the moment. I think I'll let the book that is you unfold naturally, if you know what I mean. If something does come up, I won't hesitate to ask you.

Avyanna: Oh um I was actually hoping that we could take turns asking each other questions to get to know each other better.

*Zenith smiled and leaned back in his chair.*
Ah, so you're one of those people. Nothing wrong with that, I enjoy a good question, but you know, you learn the most about someone by observing and simply interacting with them.
