Description
I like making short comics, but the time (and effort) it takes to finish these has been a problem for me; partly because of the tools I use, and partly because my recently fractured (and healed) wrist protests against all the work. Therefore I'm trying to develop a more simplified style for the comics; something that'll look nice, but lessen the strain on my hand. This is my first completed attempt.

Ah, well... That's the danger with reference humour; some people might get it, but most won't. Especially with something as obscure as what I'm going for here. And that's fine. Truth be told, I really did this thing mostly for my own amusement. Making others laughΒ would just beΒ a bonus.

In general I don't like explaining jokes. Always seems to ruin the mood, but..
The idea is that, as an occultist, Aeon of Dreams owns the Necronomicon, a book well known for its strange language and ability to drive readers insane. The assumption would be that a young, innocent baby (who hasn't talked until now) wouldn't know anything about something dark and dangerous like that. But instead, the first complete sentence he says is in that language.
Or you could go for the simpler interpretation: Mr. Dreams, known for his odd spells, accidentally let's a small child read from his books. Either or works.

As fun as that would be, no. It's an βinhumanβ language made up by a group of authors in 1920-30, and later added to by younger authors inspired by the classic works all the way up to modern times.
I've actually been wondering if anyone would get the reference, or is too old and obscure..?

well, as much as obscure it is, it also shows how intelligent you are!

Oh dear, looks like little Cinder is going to accidentally summon a demon (and still manages to look adorable doing so).Β
I hope your wrist feels better soon!

I wonder if they make child-sized cultist robes..Β Β
As for my wrist, I usually put a brace on it before I go to sleep, so it stays in a pretty good shape during the day. The only exceptions are when I overuse my hand somehow.

what'd he just say? LOL
I'm simply amazed you made this WITH a fractured wrist! Which hand is your dominant one (unless you're ambidextrous) and did you fracture that wrist?

The translations might be off, but it's βI invite/invoke Shubb-nigurath!β
I might have worded it wrong, but my wrist was fractured a little while back, and recently healed. The problem is more that the wrist I fractured was indeed on my dominant hand, so I kept unconsciously using it all the time. It didn't heal right as a result. My wrist's weaker now, and starts aching if I strain it too much.

The same thing happened to my mom, who fractured her dominant wrist and had to have it in a cast for 3 months. She's doing much better now, and luckily isn't feeling aches. Of course she doesn't draw all that much to the point of straining it, so totally different case there.
