Description
For this piece:As a very uncertain university student, this piece is rather personal to me. I have listed all of my dreams in there, but the light bulb never came on... I could not decide what I want to do with my life, and the next thing I knew, I've wasted almost 2 years of university without knowing what I want to do...
I know I am running out of time as I stay uncertain, and time is slowing corroding my life away. So I suppose, my goal, or my dream, is the ability to light that little light bulb in my head, and perhaps capture one of the goals within my uncertain mind ( and then just go for it!). (the chaotic arrangement of the words are my messy mind orz)
I know many of you will think I am been way to literal with this piece and my goal, but I wanted to forcibly show what I think. Some of you might not realize, just how hard it is to find something I want to do with my future. I have to think about it everyday, it's not a very pleasant thing orz. Not to mention the university want me to decide what I want to do soon. I already have a lot of people telling me they DON'T understand why I could not find something I want to do with my life after university orz....
Even as I am applying to design schools, I am questioning if that's the right thing to do. I love doing art, but science fulfill my curious mind.... but I can only chose one....

orz I just realize a lot of pieces entered are about dreams.... maybe I got the theme of this contest wrong.... O well, future aspiration is also a kind of dream.... right?
the person in the pic is me, this is only the second time I did a self-portrait XD, I know it kind of...don't look like me... I wanted to show my abstract mind, so the fonts and everything are in 2D style where as in real life, I drew myself and everything else more solid-like.
Edit: I know my hand looks abit weird, but don't know how to fix it yet...

The chaos shown in the words really reflect indecision, each idea so different, yet beautiful in it's own way...
I think most people can relate to this, because the future is so full of surprises, and choosing what to do is the hardest decision ever!!

Hahaha, those are most of the things I'm considering doing with my life. Trust me, you are not alone in your confusion. (Whenever the subject comes up among my friends, the others just go "LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!! Don't wanna talk about it!)

I feel I can really relate to this piece.
I'll have to choose what to study, too, and I already know that I am running out of time though I still have a year and a half. I just can't choose, there's so much! So I really recognize what you want to tell us with this work, and I think you did that in a very great way. I love the colours, too!

Congrats on being top 25 in the contest! I love the colors in this piece and the concept speaks very personally to myself in a way also.
I an a recent college graduate and find myself struggling with the same question of "what do I want to do?" I got my BS in Marine Biology but also Minored in Art. You said.. "I love doing art, but science fulfill my curious mind." Which i find to be true.. but I don't think we have to choose just ONE.. A friend once told me that I could be an illustrator for science textbooks. That got me looking into other jobs that involve the two.. I even found a woman who dives and paints underwater!
Sorry for the LONG comment.. I guess what I wanted to say is.. don't worry so much about the destination, sometimes the journey is the best part. Follow your feet, and enjoy the ride.

I guess I am a bit weird, but I have interest in art separately from science XD. I love to learn about science, but not really into doing art relate to science XD. I just want to learn about all the interesting science theories XD.
Then again I love to do art without any scientific involvement XD.
It's hard to explain, but I suppose I like these two things separately ^^'.
But, after all ;D, life is uncertain and I might just end up with something unexpectedly wonderful ;D. And you are right, sometimes the journey is the best part!

Definitely not weird at all. lol I don't really see the two interests finding any common ground in my life either. I have resided myself to the fact that Art is my passion but will just have to be my hobby. All, I can hope for is that I will have time to dedicate to it throughout my entire life.
And hey.. if you choose to follow a career in art (because you are clearly talented enough to do so!) then you can always subscribe to a science journal or find ways to learn about it on the side.

If you can't decide between one or the other....combine them.
For example. When visiting a plant arbortorium, I discovered that they take pictures of every tree, leaf, and seed in the park. Not only that, but they collected samples for the archive, in which it had to be presented quite beautifully. It was a brilliant combination of photography, design and plant science.
That's just one example. I bet there are more ways...Good luck!

I love this picture and its concept. I'm usually indecisive, and that is a major disadvantage when it comes to choosing a career. I'm still young, but it's somewhat depressing to think about the future.

This is an amazing piece of work. The cel-shading and typography just contrast and compliment the soft painterly style of the character, and all the details and the colors are just stunning~
