I can't get the light's edges to be sharp! they just stay diffuse after they come in from the window, and light the whole room. Help!

Hey man, great tutorial, thanks much for it. I'm having trouble finding tutorials for architectural rendering, and your's has been very helpful.
In the twelfth step though, you break from your (until then) very clear style and just say "turn on GI and render".
What the heck is GI?

Maybe he means Enable GI Parameters in the GI tab in the Compositing tag?

nope, GI = Global Illumination
open render setting, right click left then chose global illumination
Hit render and...!!!

In step 3 you say face editing mode- How do I find that? Looks like a great tutorial, but I just downloaded Cinema, so I don't know nothing about it.

I'm a first time user of Cinema 4 D so this question's probably going to sound real dumb.
From step 3 to 4 the perspective suddenly changes, how do you do that?

no problem. all you have to do is click on the arrows that are rotating around a dot on the top right of the window, hold and move your mouse to find the desired vew. alternatly if you didnt get what i said since i explained it badly you can hold down ALT + Left mouse button and move your view.

You might want to try turning down the intensity of light2 to 10% and move it down so you don't get the light reflection on the ceiling... since it doesn't flow with the lighting.
My light set up was similar for this one.

your right about moving it down i hsould have done that but i noticed once i had finished and i think maybe 15% would do the trick. ( i may add interior lights)
