It's called muzzle flash and it should be in the particle file in the tf folder.

Yeah, that's what I've been using, but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but it never shows up. I do the same process with a flamethrower and it works fine. Is there a different process needed?

You have to scroll the thing at the bottom REALLY slowly, because muzzle flash is hard to see. You might also want to use muzzleflash-shotgun.

I tried getting Tails to hold the crowbar, but the crowbar's texture was, for some reason, not there.(I ended up with the annoying purple and black checker-board pattern on the crowbar)

Consider this an 'Alternate Universe' kind of thing where Half-Life Zombies run rampant on Sonic's world and every Sonic character can operate a firearm. It's not a very original concept, but, eh, whaddayagunnado?
