Description
This beautiful ancient minoan painting called 'The Spring Fresco' depicts swallows flying in the air and red lilies swaying in the wind. It is so well preserved because Akrotiri (in the island of Santorini) was buried by Theran eruption in the 16th century BC. It is now on display at the National Archaeological Museum, Athens, Greece.Information: [link] [link]

Yes! Botanists have been trying to determine which species it is. These kinds of ancient paintings can tell us what plants and animal there were over 3000 years ago.
