Description
I just finnished watching the last episode of the fifth doctor (from the old Doctor Who TV series) and was all sad face (beacuse his time was over) and in fan girl-mode so I felt like attempting to draw drawing Peter Davison as the fifth doctorDon't know what to say about the result, though, the hair is a mess (like always) and I was totally abusing the air brush when doing the skin xD And in the end I don't know if I should say that it looks like Peter Davison or not..(?)
- And YES, the fifth incarnation wears a decorative vegetable (it's a celery stick, lol) on his chest xD
I checked DA for other pictures of him and was surprised to find so to few pictures of him, people should love draw him more!
Note: This is not a paint-over or whatever, it's created from scratch
...Wooo~ me drawing realism..?

What a lovely depiction of Five, with the mussed up hair, serene expression (now that's cricket!) and the Gallifreyan in the background.Β
I must admit I've only seen the first two of Five's eppys, and liked neither, and his companions less. Saw the end of Earthshock and Caves, which were excellent.Β I've always liked Davison, and thought his Doctor underrated.Β He had his moments:βOh, marvellous. Youβre going to kill me. What a finely tuned response to the situation.β

Adorable, and I like the softness! Cool style! I do think his face looks a bit unfinished though....

You've capture the Fifth Doctor essence very well. You should be proud of yourself. Doctor Who comic strip artists have always said he is the hardest Doctor to draw.

This is awesome! Wish I could paint like this.. The hair is amazing! What brushes did you use? If you don't mind me asking

Thank you Hmm, brushes.. If you're asking what brushes I used in painttool SAI (the program I used) I used water10, water9, airbrush, water brush, blur brush and ink pen... I think(?) and they were all shaped as circles, or maybe you thought I used photoshop? x3

I've seen very few Peter Davison episodes, but the ones I have seen I was spellbound by. This is really good, and captures him perfectly! Well done!

Oh, I rather like this. I love his mussed hair and the sort of over-all rumpled look. And, dear Lord, but he is so young. Yes. I like this quite a bit. And you've included the eternal lapel celery. A must. There are too few depictions of the Fifth Doctor and he's really rather adorable. David Tennant took a lot of cues from Peter Davison's Doctor and I often find there is a strong element of continuity between Five and Ten. I'd love to see you do more.
I think I need to write a story about Five soon. hmmmm.

Thanks Yes, I too think the fifth is really adorable, Peter Davison did a great job and yes Five and Ten really are alike now that I think about it x3

I'm so happy to see such a beautiful picture of an old school doctor for once Peter was the third doctor I saw as a kid and I think you've done him a lot of justice here, you're technique is very good, you shouldn't be worried about the hair either! It's wonderful

Circet In reply to Raenafyn [2012-05-09 18:09:12 +0000 UTC]
Well apparently it has healing properties and can work as an antitoxine..and it turns purple when it comes in contact with certain toxic gases from a certain part of the universe, the doctor says?.. lol xD

Raenafyn In reply to Circet [2012-05-09 18:48:48 +0000 UTC]
meh, it seems almost everything that's a plant has healing properties -_- now if they can actually prove that as definitive fact...
i had done some research and apparently ginkgo is thought to have the ability to restore mental health, but it turns out it doesn't do jack shit. and soy beans, GOSH, even though they are rumored to be really healthy, it turns out they apparently are actually BAD to eat!
