Description
I took this one in Ney York! But that is quite obvious right?I am submiting this one because of my exhibition which has closed down today. You can read more about it in my journal [link]
---> You can see how i included this picture in my concept of exhibition HERE: [link] <-----
Title of my concept was PATHS. So I had 16 pairs of photos; one picture with path in nature...solitude...mysterious...in the heart of nature. And another one in the middle of a big city....a lot of crowd...rush....
Let me know how you find such concept or what you think about it??
What I like at this picture is that is has so many elements inside. There is even that smiling chinese and there is so much happening in it. Everyone with their own stories and goals...and directions. you can see people crossing the street at red light in the behind. welcome to new york.
This picture is fantastic on a huge print. So FULL VIEW is a must!
thanks for viewing! I am really looking forward to read you opinions about it and my concept!

this one tells me "life is simple - life a hectic" ... it's that simple thing in there .. people all in a hurry, all quite busy all day long, but hey .. one is having a smile at you that's funny and great at all .. this is a wonderful photo .. just out of the scene and out of real life

The smile turns the photo from a well composed tourist snap into journalistic art, well done.

hej. Look i think its a nice picture indeed wich indeed has a lot of elements and people wich carry a story, but every simple picture taken of a croud has these elements. Its just ""THAT'' one picture wich contains more. Wich contains the intimacy''mispelled? between the photographer and picture becoming intimacy between wachter photographer and photo, because many of these kind of shots just miss this(actually in all kinds of photography), maybe because its taken to fast, or because the photographer isnt busy with showing his feelings/emotion but is just trying to ''blow away'' the watcher with a great compostion, quality and etc.
And this picture yes contains the elements wich you wrote down but i think it misses the emotion wich hits me as a watcher, all the people are just walking by, no one is doing something interesting if you get what i mean.
What this do has and what i like about is that these lot is speed in it.... rushour... it visible very well, for me thats the plus point....

At first I thought the photo was somewhat messy, but the longer I look at it, the more I like it.
There is happening a lot within one picture and it's a nice portrait of NYC (I wonder what the woman in pink is thinking about).
The contrast with the other photo just makes me like even more.

I really like this picture, as well as the idea.
Both in the middle of nature with no one else around, and hustling about in the middle of New York with everyone surrounding us, we are all following separate, unique paths... all going somewhere, to someone, or something... a collection of people put together all with different lives, different stories and things going through their minds... and you can see that by how everyone's scattered and going in all directions, but also by the variety of expressions on their faces.
This is well composed, balanced, and a lot of fun to look at. .

Nice shot, really interesting. I love how the smile is the centre of the picture, and everything seems to move out from that point. This is a lovely picture for people-watching; everybody is different.
Is that Morgan Freeman at the bottom of the photo?

...and a scowl. Maybe black and white everything else and keep the smiling man in color. That'd be wicked fantastic.

Sorry I didn't notice, but you could put a story to every face you can see on this corner. (I may even do so) I suppose it sums up the diversity of the city.
This shot gets better the more I look at it.

Good shot.

but what do you think about the concept? [link]
well maybe you should see more pairs but i want to hear your opinion.
hey no worries about commenting. you can be direct and honest with my photos. well you must be!

oh. sorry. i've checked the pair too but didn't tell you my opinion.
i think it's strong together. i mean stronger than each of them as a single.
ideas and concept make works ten times better, ideas seperate the best from the normal.
it's a good comparison you've created. the idea is clear without being closed for interpretation.
so yes. the pair is really good !
