Description
“It’ll only be for a year,” she urged, speaking in a calm, yet cheerful tone, “you’ll be back before you know it.”

Sasha had been pestering the young sergeant for an hour now, trying to convince him to leave Clan Dusk for a year to travel with her and her advisor through the other clans in the arctic. When she had first visited the clan almost a year ago he was just an officer, but friendly, polite, and willing to help. Now, during her second visit, she could see a darker side developing, and could only suspect the harsher conditions were to blame.

She wasn’t sure why she wanted to take him along with her, but she felt there was something worth saving, and that if she didn’t he was going to turn into something very bad. Though after getting to know the general of the clan, Paci, she had no doubt that this was every intention of the general. His officers were very strict and often violent, though with them living so close to the danger zone it was almost necessary.

It seemed though that he was going to the extreme with Yajin.

“I have a lot I still need to do here.. Why don’t you just take one of the other officers, Ambassador Nightfall?” He had replied with forced courtesy. After days of her trying to convince him to leave the clan he had grown up in, he was beginning to grow irritated by her never ending persistence. Though maybe the reason he didn’t completely blow her off was because she did have a charm about her.

“Me and the general agreed it would be good for you to learn about other clans, and how they go about their own lives,” she replied and touched his arm softly. “Many of the officers here came from other clans, this is the only one you’ve known.”

“You discussed this with General Paci?” Yajin asked, eyebrows raised in surprise. She did have a point though, it was true that most of the officers here were migrants from other clans, it wasn’t uncommon for a draik to leave it’s clan of birth to join another. It helped with the bloodlines.

“Yes, he wasn’t opposed when I explained the valuable information and training you would receive along the way,” Sasha finished. In face, Paci was very much against letting Yajin go, but Sasha had a way with words.

“I have my lieutenants test in eight months..” Yajin began, but the ambassador cut him off.

“That was also discussed, you’ll return to perform your test, we’ll be at a nearby clan so you won’t have to travel long, but we won’t return again until four months after.” This had also been another argument of Pacis, but it was easy enough to dismiss.

They walked through the carved ice caves in silence for several minutes. The walls had been worn smooth by wear and weather, they provided protection and housing for the draiks and were always being widened and deepened through the glacier to make room for more inhabitants.

The more Yajin though about it, the more he began to learn towards the idea. It would be like a vacation, he hadn’t ever experienced one before. He had never thought about it before, never thought that the other clans did things differently.

“I’ll go,” he said finally, his voice making a metallic echo through the hard, blue caves.

“Great,” Sasha said with a smile of relief, “we leave tomorrow.”

I've been wanting to draw a picture with Yajin and Sasha interacting for awhile, I've never been good at doing two characters in one picture. This would have been before they were together, while Yajin was still a Sergeant.

Sasha is really good at getting her way.

YAY 8D Thanks kegs! I was worried the background would be overpowering, but both Yajin and Sash seem to have enough detail to compensate.

Wow, Love these two!
It feels as though if anyone else had tried to persuade him he wouldnn't have had any of it, but because its Sasha he finally caved. xD
I really like Saha's hair in this as well and how she still has her flower. Her wing markings look really nice too. ^^

Yeah he already has a soft spot for her, even if he doesn't know it!

Yeah! She does that rank tattoos for everyone (see Yajin's ear, only 2 since he's sergeant) so she bedazzles her own wings.

Oh really? o.o I know all about the ranks they are given but I had no idea that it was Sasha's job to actually give the markings.
