Did I make it on time? ><I never enter contests, but the theme for this one really appealed to me. XD I've just finished school, and what I want to do in the future has been on my mind a lot lately. Unfortunately it never was and still isn't really clear to me what I really want to do... >_>
This piece is probably more metaphorical and really describes an emotion rather than a situation. When you say 'What are your dreams?' this is my feeling. Something soft, a bit blurry and undefined, fragile, blossoming, but nevertheless, something above and beyond the suffocating depths.
There are so many things I wanted to convey here, personal as well as things I thought would be universal. I really couldn't tell you exactly what they are so you could say it's open to interpretation xD
This drawing may seem a bit confusing. Like my aspirations xP. Colourful, mixed up, and not quite straight-forward..... Standing at the edge of the beginning is really exciting xD

So lovely. It's amazing. I love the brightness gradient from top to bottom and that thin red ribbon being so bright beneath the water and drawing attention to the girl who almost fades in the water

this is truly a beautiful piece. it really describes your description of dreams very well. i love how the top part is so warm and colorful(great flower design btw) the top part and how deep and dark the bottom part is. It's,I think, a wonderful emotional picture. Well done. And congrats on the DD. It's well deserved for sure.

The contrast you make between the sky and the water is so... I'm not sure how to describe it--ethereal, maybe? Regardless, the way the colors flow from warm, to cool, then to almost complete blackness is so well done. I see it more as a 'need to create' thing, with the main metaphor being a girl who seems to be trapped within a world she can never get to (i.e, the world of her art,) but regardless of the real, personal metaphor behind it, it still gives the viewer an emotional response, something I think all great artists do.
You did a great job on this. You deserve the dA.
