AppleDash Family:
Applejack and Rainbow Dash have always been great friends thanks to having a lot on common. They both love physical activity, are competitive, and deeply care for their people. So it wasn't to big a surprise when they announced they were dating. They shared a lot of interests and often pushed each other to be better, in a supportive way. Their relationship and eventual marriage were generally smooth sailings, with very few bumps in the road. Applejack made it very clear from the beginning that she wanted a big family, with plenty of rugrats bouncing around the barn. Rainbow agreed to this, thought honestly didn't realize just how many tykes she's end up having. Still, in spite of being split 6 ways between 6 kids, RD and AJ are very happy, thought they've come to realize that they've been butting heads with a few of their kids recently.

Apple Family:
The rest of the Apple family has been living their own lives. Big Mac and Sugar Belle are still on the farm, helping AJ maintain it. The two had also planned to have a large family, but both the births of Bold Mac and Peach Pavlova were rather traumatizing and dangerous to Sugar Belle's health, so they decided to stop at 2, whom they absolutely adore.
Applebloom and Spike were quite the surprise to many, but a welcome surprise. Like RD and AJ, they both have similar traits and are able to boost each other up. They dated for a few short years before getting married, and having a little dragon/pony hybrid kid, Ambrosia. Nowadays, both Spike and Applebloom live off the farm pursuing their own paths. Spike is a Friendship Ambassador and often traveling to other countries. Applebloom is currently in Canterlot of all placed with Starlight Glimmer, both of whom are currently studying the magic of cutie marks, as it is a rarely pursued science. As a result, Ambrosia is often left in the care of her aunts and uncle.

Dash Family:
Being an only child is rare in pony families, with most having 2-3 children on average. Rainbow's parents though only wanted 1 foal to give all their love and attention to, which they definitely lived up to. Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles smothered RD in enough love to drown an elephant, but Rainbow does love her parents, even if they can be overbearing. However, their family dynamic did change somewhat. Scootaloo was well into her teens when they offered her to become a real member of the family; Scoot's parents were extremely absent throughout her life, and ultimately Scootaloo disowned them for their neglect.

Once Scoots hit 18, she did some traveling and adventuring, leaving the Cutie Mark camp to Applebloom for about a year. During that time, she reconnected with Bab Seed, and the two really hit it off. They shared a lot of similar hobbies, and both enjoyed the fast paced bustle of Manehattan. The two started dating soon after, and enjoyed big city life for a while, until Applebloom called Scootaloo back so she could pursue a study in Canterlot. It didn't take a lot of convincing to get Bab Seed to come along, she loved Ponyville and could go for a change of pace. So the two headed off and stayed in Ponyville so Scootaloo could run the Cutie Mark Camp. It was originally only meant to be a temporary thing, but years started to pass, Applebloom stayed in Canterlot and Sweetie Belle's Bridleway career was taking off, so the pair stayed in Ponyville despite missing Manehattan. They've since had a kid, but haven't gotten married, as they don't really see the point in it (they did have a nice faux semi-wedding-like party for their fifth anniversary though).
