Wonderful work. I am switching from watercolor to acryla. You are an excellent model for how-to, you show how gouache can be applied to showcase drawing skills.

I'm not very good at drawing with just markers, which is why I mix them with other mediums. But I love the fresh look to all of your marker portraits, and the color and the movement of them. You keep the look of the person when you draw them, and their features are clear. You draw their eyes with a lot of personality - something I try to do with my own portraits.
They are so lovely, and I love looking at them. I wish I could see the process of drawing the portrait!

oh wow! thanx...so kind of u.
i saw ur works hav lots of fine details where u play around with lines & tonal value shading which is lokks impressive.
u hav a strong skill base on sketching, u just need 2 get familiar the character of the marker & try 2 show the facial characters. too bad that i do not hav the process of the marker portrait. somemore nowadays r more on digital although the basic tradisional technique still very important.
well, it's my pleasure 2 giv some suggestion on ur artworks if u may.

I actually have Prismacolor markers, which by themselves, aren't very good for blending and shading (in my experience, that is). I've tried Copics before, and even though they do a better job, I didn't really get the hang of them. And I've never used Pantone before. So yes, I think I would need to learn the "character of the marker", as you say, and learn the process of blending with certain colors to make the art look both real and good. Getting more familiar with the planes of faces and how the light hits them would help also, I think. But I wouldn't mind some suggestion on my artwork at all.

this is a beautiful piece of art. I really love the way the marker strokes are visible, we can see how fast your gesture is.
What kind of markers did you use?

You really are a marker wizard. There is beautiful rhythm in our lines. Especially on background.

This is quite amazing. I love how realistic yet surreal it is. The colors in her hair in contrast to how well shaded her face is just really makes this piece pop.
