That is a beautiful interpretaion, Saba [i assume that to be your name!!].
Actually, the painting is based on another painting. That painting is based on Napolean's army's retreat from Russia.

come on, there is NOTHING to be sorry about.
A painting is always open to all interpretaions. I thought I would just let you know the background as it is related to Russia, that's all.

I find this is very expressive and intense. I can almost feel the cold (which is a blessing, with the heat we have here! :gig. The colors and the painting tecnique you used make me feel the chill of death!

yes, chill of death
when I saw your 'prince of Death' that was something I felt too.
So, all the more glad that it conveys it.

Powerful! A never ending plight because we (as humans) cannot seem to learn the value of life, instead of power and greed. Emotion caught splendidly.

This is a wonderful picture, and your statement is so true, like everyone else has said.
Great job.

oh im amazed by this painting... the sadness and fear on those faces, the fury of the snow storm... the feeling of no hope... the blurry figures on the left... like being forgotten, like being unexistent... so much anguish i feel here... so much like the world today...

I do really like this, but just a suggestion...it looks sort of unfinished to me because i can see the canvas. Maybe some white, ofF white, paint to add demention? But it is very good.

yes, I too had that feeling, thanks
will give it a thought, I really do not know if lighter shade is going to help..as I have been gradually covering the lighter parts with gray and brown, you know.....

oh fuck, this is so powerful, especially with everything that's been going on in the world... helpless against overbearing forces. i've been think & crying about the plight of asylum seekers detained in Australia all day today (brought up again by a recent report about grave human rights breaches - see [link] if you're interested). it's the eyes: the eyes that have seen so much and have nothing left to look forward to. a very very poignant piece.
