I love the simplicity of this painting with it deep undertones of symbolism. Just my kind of art.

We are all in this case : asking for the moon... we are all this sad and hopeful tree, stretching out its branches-arms towards the sky. This picture is universal, simple and full of sense

True
Would you mind having a look at another of my pics - more for the story behind it than the painting itself - it is called - 'we are all love-lorn', based on one of our ancient poetic work.It is in the same vein as your this comment.

ok I see what you mean. It's the same spirit :the solitude and the elevation towards the hope

There's just something so raw and primitive about your body of work. It sort of reminds me of Henri Rousseau's work, but without a polished finish. Something about the way you piece the elements of your paintings, how place them and how you draw, it's just very unclassical, but beautiful. I don't see "amateur" or "needs to learn how to apply paint" I see a unique point of view, one that many artists can't achieve because they are so hung up on academic constraints. Your work isn't what I'm used to admiring, and that's the charm. I particularly like this piece because it is so calm and sensitive. The background is simple, but not flat, and the lone tree, to me, evokes a pathetic desperation.

WOW
It is early morning here, in Scotland. And this comment lifts my spirits way up!!
Thank you very much indeed for the kind words.
I am not trained as an artist neither aspire to be known as an artist. For me art has to do with communication than eye-pleasing empty exercises in aesthetics. I sincerely believe my role to be a modest chronicler of social ills thru visual media. Nothing more.
And that precisely is what you are saying. It is seldom that a comment goes so much to the heart of my work, and thank you indeed for that.

lovely sky. I like how the tree top is dusty, and the dust "reaches" towards the moon. Like the leaves became ashes...

I almost feel bad for the tree. Then again, I can relate to it, looking for something one wants that's so, so far away. It's just so clever how you designed the tree, keeping it realistic looking but also making it like an arm. Lovely work.
