Absolutely beautiful. I love the detail on the tree and the leaves are beautifully done as well. I love the colors that you've used and the fact that the sky is not just one color, but that it goes from darker to lighter, it makes the leaves look more dense which really add to this piece.

Interesting departure from your other work. Good way to refine observation and technique. I like the balance in this and the contradiction of the strong straight grass and the fragility of the leaves and the serenity of the branches. If I were to psychoanalyze I might think there are arguing forces in your soul

Love the technique you used in the background, just a hint of various leaves & tree trunks emerging from the depth of those leaves. The tree trunk in the foreground looks like a birch or some other white barked tree. Good detailing, yet very impressionistic.

this is actally not quite in my line - I mean these half-a-dozen pieces - sycamore, garden, focus et al. They are more in decorative style, just to try out if I can do that.

I understand your need to do this...I consider myself more of an Irish landscape & flower portrait artist yet every once in a while I'll try something totally different. I guess it's safe to say I prefer your decorative pieces.
